Prostate cancer is the most terrifying disease for middle-aged and elderly men. This disease generally has no symptoms in the early stages. Even if there are symptoms, many people will mistakenly think it is prostatitis or prostate hyperplasia. If we want to detect this disease in the early stages, we can only go to the hospital for regular physical examinations. When we do the examination, we actually have to use a lot of scientific methods. Some patients have heard that prostatic fluid can also diagnose this disease. In fact, this view is wrong. Prostatic fluid can only diagnose whether a man has prostatitis. If we want to determine whether a man has prostate cancer, we need other measures. Prostatic fluid examination mainly checks the white blood cells in the prostatic fluid. If there are more than ten white blood cells and the lecithin bodies are reduced, then we can diagnose prostatitis. At the same time, bacterial culture can also be performed to clearly classify chronic prostatitis. If the bacterial culture result is positive, then it can be diagnosed as chronic bacterial prostatitis. Otherwise, it is chronic non-bacterial prostatitis. To diagnose prostate cancer, we need to rely on the following four steps. 1. Step 1 - Digital rectal examination Digital rectal examination is the simplest means of examination. If prostate nodules are found during this examination, then we need to consider whether prostate cancer has already occurred and we need to proceed to the next step of examination. 2. Step 2 - Serum prostate-specific antigen (pSA) test Serum prostate-specific antigen (pSA) test is also a relatively sensitive indicator at present. Under normal circumstances, the blood value should not exceed 4ng/ml. When people have prostate cancer or other prostate diseases, the status will increase. 3. The third step - rectal ultrasound examination Rectal ultrasound examination sometimes affects the results of serological examination, so we should do it after serological examination. The ultrasound probe is inserted into the rectum like a digital rectal examination to observe prostate lesions. 4. Step 4 - Prostate biopsy Prostate biopsy is the most reliable method of examination. If a patient feels a nodule during rectal examination and the serum pSA level is elevated, we should perform a prostate biopsy. Prostate cancer cannot actually be diagnosed through prostate fluid. Prostate fluid can only determine whether people have prostate hyperplasia. Therefore, in order to better diagnose prostate cancer, we also need to rely on other methods, such as serological tests, rectal ultrasound, and the most standard prostate puncture biopsy. If unfortunately diagnosed with cancer, then we must resume treatment under the guidance of the doctor. |
