Good care should be taken before prostate cancer surgery

Good care should be taken before prostate cancer surgery

Prostate cancer is a terrible cancer. Many patients will suffer serious effects on their bodies due to improper preoperative care. Therefore, preoperative care is also extremely important. It is necessary for us to understand the relevant nursing knowledge. Let's ask experts to introduce the preoperative care of prostate cancer:

(1) The night before surgery, the patient should receive a cleansing enema and have the surgical field skin prepared. Fasting is recommended on the day of surgery. Antibiotics can be used prophylactically half an hour before surgery. The best surgery for bladder orifice obstruction is TUR, which can only relieve symptoms and improve the patient's quality of life for stage C lesions, but is meaningless for cure.

(2) Radical prostatectomy: This surgery is mainly used for patients with stage A and stage B prostate cancer. For some patients, radical surgery means the cure of prostate cancer. However, clinically, there are very few patients who are suitable for radical prostatectomy, and patients often miss the best time for surgery when they are diagnosed. There are two surgical approaches: perineal prostatectomy and retropubic prostatectomy.

(3) Extended radical prostatectomy: refers to the extensive removal of local tumors, and attention is paid to the removal of the bladder base, the residual part of the seminal vesicle and vas deferens, the posterior bladder fascia and the urogenital diaphragm. However, studies have shown that extended radical prostatectomy does not necessarily prolong the patient's survival. It is not often used now.

(4) Cystoprostatectomy and pelvic clearance: mainly refers to extended cystoprostatectomy with radical urinary diversion and radical resection of pelvic organs. This surgery is highly destructive and has high surgical complications and mortality. It is only used for strictly selected young people. Its value needs further exploration.

The above is the introduction to the knowledge of preoperative care for prostate cancer. Remembering these is very helpful to improve the success rate of treatment. If you still have any questions about the care of the disease, you can consult an expert friend. I wish you all a healthy and happy life.
