What exactly is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is a disease that can make men collapse, hitting men hard both physically and mentally. Everyone must pay attention to the impact of prostate cancer on everyone and understand what the prostate is. The following is a detailed introduction to this aspect:

Prostate cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the male reproductive system. Its incidence increases with age. There are obvious regional differences in its incidence, which is higher in Europe and the United States. It is reported to be the second leading cause of cancer death in men, second only to lung cancer. The incidence in my country was low in the past, but due to the aging of the population, the incidence has increased in recent years. At the same time, due to the continuous improvement of the diagnostic methods of prostate cancer, such as radioimmunoassay of acid phosphatase, determination of lactate dehydrogenase in prostate fluid, transrectal ultrasound imaging, CT examination and improvement of prostate puncture needles, prostate cancer can be diagnosed early and then effectively treated in time. There is a big difference between the pathological detection rate of prostate cancer and the clinical incidence.

As for what kind of disease is prostate cancer, the cause of prostate cancer has not yet been identified, and it may be related to genetics, environment, sex hormones, etc. The secretory function of the prostate is regulated by the androgen testosterone, and the luteinizing hormone of the gonadotropin plays an indirect role.

98% of prostate cancer is adenocarcinoma, which often occurs from the peripheral part of the atrophic prostate, and most of them are multifocal. There are three ways for the disease to metastasize: ① Infiltrate nearby tissues or adjacent organs, first invade the two lobes, penetrate the capsule, and reach the ampulla of the vas deferens, the seminal vesicle, the bladder neck and the posterior urethra; ② Lymphatic metastasis can reach the para-aortic lymph nodes inside and outside the skeleton; ③ Hematogenous metastasis is most common in the bones, spine, and femur. Severe pain. Pathological fractures may occur. It can also metastasize to the liver, lungs, pleura, adrenal glands, brain and other visceral organs.

When prostate cancer patients learn that they have the disease, they must pay more attention to the development of the disease and do a good job of controlling the problem. We must pay more attention to the psychological burden and thoughts of prostate cancer patients, communicate in time, and alleviate them. This will better help them solve the troubles of the disease.
