Lots of mucus in the nostrils

Lots of mucus in the nostrils

Many people often experience many phenomena in their lives, such as a lot of boogers in their noses and nostrils. If you have a stuffy nose, it may be because there is too much nasal mucus. However, people's excessive nasal mucus may be related to the climate, such as when the air is dry. But everyone's physical condition is completely different, so if there is a problem with excessive nasal mucus, you should be able to find a way to solve it. So what is the cause of excessive nasal mucus?

1. What causes a lot of mucus?

Everyone has nasal mucus, and nasal mucus can also be used as an indicator of whether the human body is healthy. There are many reasons for the occurrence of nasal mucus. A moderate amount of nasal mucus is normal, so there is no need to worry. Generally, when you have a cold or your body is chilled, the nasal mucosa will be irritated and produce a large amount of secretions. Nasal mucus is also more likely to appear in dry weather or places with poor air quality. Therefore, if you want to have less nasal mucus, you should ensure your body is healthy, keep warm, avoid catching a cold, and eat light food.

2. What is the reason for the baby's excessive nasal mucus?

Nasal mucus is mainly caused by the presence of a lot of dust in the surrounding environment, which forms under the barrier of the nose. Of course, nasal mucus is also a product of the nasal mucosa, so you need to pay attention to cleaning it regularly. After all, children's nose resistance is relatively poor, and severe irritation to the nasal mucosa may cause most nasal diseases. You can use a nasal cleaner or moisten the nose with clean water to effectively and conveniently remove the child's nasal mucus. You need to pay attention to a small amount of cleaning at ordinary times, otherwise it will reduce the child's resistance.

3. How do boogers come about?

Nasal mucus is the normal secretion in the nasal cavity. The amount depends on the weather, humidity, your working and living environment, and yourself. What should you do if your nose is dry and full of mucus? If this happens all year round, it may be due to yourself or the surrounding environment. No matter what the problem is, you should drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables, and do not dig hard when there is secretion in the nasal cavity. Digging hard will damage the capillaries, and in severe cases it will cause nosebleeds and bacterial infection. It is recommended to drip 0.5%-1% ephedrine saline solution into the nose, 1-2 drops on each side; if dry scab is found, use a medical cotton swab dipped in a little cold boiled water, and drip 1-2 drops into the nostril. After 1 minute, gently rub the nose to push out the dry scab, and then squeeze a little chloramphenicol eye ointment to lubricate the nasal cavity.

The five most common diseases of the nose

There are six common types of nasal diseases. The most common is inflammation, including infectious inflammation, allergic inflammation and granulomatous inflammation. Among them, infectious inflammation is divided into colds caused by viruses and sinusitis caused by bacteria; while allergic inflammation is most represented by allergic rhinitis.

The second type of disease is tumors, which may be benign, malignant, or just ordinary cysts. The third category is trauma. Since the nasal bone is the only tissue on the head that protrudes outward, it is a very conspicuous target and is therefore the most vulnerable to injury. Statistics show that nose injuries account for more than 70% of head injuries.

The fourth type of nasal disease is foreign bodies in the nose. In addition to common small objects such as batteries, BB bullets, peanuts and buttons, leeches may also take advantage of people washing their faces in wild streams to get into the nose and settle in the nasal cavity.

The fifth type is nosebleed, which may be caused by inflammation or tumor, or by picking the nose. As for congenital abnormalities classified as Category 6, such as choanal stenosis, they must be diagnosed by an otolaryngologist and then treated accordingly.
