MRI can be used to assist in the examination of prostate cancer

How should prostate cancer be examined? Currently, there are many methods for auxiliary diagnosis, such as blood biochemical tests, digital anal examination, rectal and pelvic ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cystourethroscopy, prostate biopsy, isotope renal imaging, etc. Biopsy pathology is currently the gold standard for diagnosis. The combination of multiple methods is helpful to determine the extent of the disease.

Common treatments for prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia:

1. Prostate cancer: Most patients with prostate cancer are older and have more concomitant lesions, so the treatment method should be considered comprehensively. For early-stage cases with good general conditions, surgical resection is the first choice. For mid- to late-stage cases with more concomitant symptoms, those who cannot or are unwilling to undergo surgery can consider transperineal puncture argon-helium ultra-low temperature freezing, transurethral transurethral prostatectomy, radioactive particle placement, bilateral orchiectomy (palliative), etc. Among them, argon-helium ultra-low temperature freezing is currently the first choice abroad.

Both should consider auxiliary necessary medical measures such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy, etc. to improve the efficacy and improve the quality of life of patients.

2. Prostatic hyperplasia: Prostatic hyperplasia can be divided into three different degrees: mild, moderate and severe. Mild and moderate patients have relatively mild clinical symptoms and can be treated without treatment or with conservative treatment such as oral medication. Severe hyperplasia often requires appropriate surgical intervention to alleviate clinical symptoms.

There are two commonly used methods: minimally invasive surgery and massively invasive surgery:

Minimally invasive: such as perineal puncture argon-helium ultra-low temperature freezing, transurethral prostatectomy, etc.

Major trauma: such as transpubic or transperineal prostatectomy, bilateral orchiectomy, etc.

Advances in interventional treatment of prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia:

In recent years, interventional therapy techniques have been widely used in the treatment of prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer, mainly including the following:

1. Transperineal prostate puncture with argon-helium ultra-low temperature cryoablation: cryoablation of the gland is performed by freezing and thawing using ultra-low temperature technology.

2. Radioactive particle placement: Radioactive particles are placed inside the gland to provide internal irradiation, mainly used for prostate cancer.

3. Transcatheter arterial embolization and infusion chemotherapy: mainly used for prostate cancer. Embolization can also quickly control hematuria symptoms.

Which patients are suitable for argon-helium ultra-low temperature cryotherapy?

It can be considered for patients with moderate to severe prostate hyperplasia, patients with early-stage prostate cancer who are unwilling to undergo surgery, and patients with mid-to-late stage cases and those with many accompanying symptoms who are unable to undergo surgery.

How effective is argon-helium ultra-low temperature cryotherapy for treating prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer?

It has little trauma and few side effects, and can quickly ablate prostatic hyperplasia glands and tumors and relieve symptoms of urinary tract obstruction. Follow-up of a large number of cases has confirmed that the efficacy is reliable.
