How to recover quickly from a cold and heatstroke

How to recover quickly from a cold and heatstroke

When the weather changes drastically in winter, the chance of people catching a cold will greatly increase, but if the weather is too hot in summer, people are also prone to catching a cold, which is generally called a heat cold. The main cause of colds in summer is heatstroke. Therefore, the cold caused by heatstroke must be treated together with the symptoms of heatstroke during the treatment process. So how can you treat a heatstroke cold faster?

1. What should I do if I get a heat stroke or a cold in summer?

1.1. Move. Quickly move the patient to a cool, ventilated place, have him lie flat, fan him with a fan or electric fan, and loosen his collar and trouser belt to facilitate the patient's breathing and heat dissipation.

1.2. Wipe. Use cold water or diluted alcohol to wipe the patient's body. You can also use a towel soaked in cold water or an ice bag or ice cubes and place them on the patient's neck, armpits, groin, or other large arteries to help the patient dissipate heat.

1.3. Serve. When you feel unwell, take antipyretic medicines such as Ren Dan, Shi Di Shui, Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Shui in time, and drink more light salt water to replenish lost body fluids.

1.4. Pinch. If the patient remains unconscious, you can use your thumb to press the patient's Ren Zhong, Hegu and other acupoints. After being rescued, the patient must lie down and rest in a cool and ventilated place. If he returns to a hot environment, it will cause more serious consequences than before.

2. Diet therapy for heatstroke and cold in summer

2.1. Lemon instant drink. Ingredients: 500 grams of fresh lemon.

Functions and indications: This drink has the effects of dispelling heat and relieving restlessness, promoting body fluid and stopping vomiting. It can treat symptoms such as heatstroke, nausea, thirst and irritability.

Cooking tips: Chop the fresh lemon pulp and squeeze out the juice with clean gauze; cook over high heat first, then on low heat, slowly simmer until it becomes a paste, and bottle it for later use. Take 10 grams each time, dissolve in boiling water, drink twice a day.

2.2. Watermelon and green porridge. Ingredients: 50 grams of fresh watermelon rind (scrape off the watermelon skin and remove the pulp), 100 grams of mung beans, 50 grams of coix seeds, and 100 grams of brown sugar.

Functions and indications: This prescription has the effects of clearing away heat and dampness, promoting body fluid, promoting diuresis and detoxifying. It is suitable for summer fever, sore throat, boils, prickly heat and summer dermatitis caused by summer heat and humidity. People with weak spleen and stomach and pregnant women should not take it.

Cooking tips: Wash the watermelon rind and cut into small pieces; add brown sugar to water and dissolve, filter, remove sediment and collect syrup. Put mung beans and coix seeds into a casserole, add 1200 ml of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook until the mung beans crack. Skim off the foam, add the watermelon rind, turn to low heat and simmer until it becomes porridge, add sugar water and stir well. Take in 2-3 doses.

3. Four taboos of heat stroke care

3.1. Excessive drinking of water: After suffering from heatstroke, a large amount of water and salt must be replenished, but drinking too much hot water will make you sweat more, which will cause further loss of water and salt in the body, and in severe cases will cause convulsions. This will not be worth the effort. The correct way should be to drink small amounts multiple times, and the amount of water each time should not exceed 300 ml.

3.2. Overeating: Do not eat greasy and fishy food. Eating too much will increase the burden on the digestive system, causing a large amount of blood to remain in the gastrointestinal tract, while the blood transported to the brain will be relatively reduced, and nutrients cannot be fully absorbed. Therefore, you should try to eat more light and refreshing things to adapt to the digestive ability of summer.

3.3. Partiality towards chili peppers: In summer, the Yang is floating outside and the Yin fluid is insufficient, and spicy and hot foods will only increase heat and reduce Yang, and it will also cause some large pimples on your skin. Therefore, you should try to eat less or no spicy food.

3.4. Cold food is harmful to your body: When you are thirsty, people often love cold drinks and fruits. However, you should not eat too much of these two things after suffering from heatstroke, as cold food will damage your spleen yang.
