Why do people with thyroid cancer feel dizzy and weak for half a year?

Thyroid cancer is a common malignant tumor of the head and neck. If patients experience dizziness and fatigue within half a year, it is mainly due to hypothyroidism, cervical lymph node metastasis, and brain metastasis of thyroid cancer. Appropriate treatment methods need to be adopted according to different causes.

1. Hypothyroidism: It may be due to factors such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. that inhibit the secretion of thyroid hormones, resulting in a decrease in the body's metabolic rate, dizziness, and fatigue. It is recommended to complete thyroid function tests and give treatment with drugs such as levothyroxine sodium tablets after a clear diagnosis;

2. Cervical lymph node metastasis: When lymph node metastasis occurs, it can compress the surrounding nerves and blood vessels, leading to dizziness and fatigue. It is necessary to further improve the cervical lymph node color Doppler ultrasound or enhanced CT to clarify the nature of the lymph nodes. If it is caused by thyroid cancer metastasis, surgical resection is required in a timely manner;

3. Brain metastasis of thyroid cancer: When thyroid cancer patients have brain metastasis, they may experience dizziness and fatigue due to tumor compression, and may also experience headaches, vomiting, blurred vision, etc. At this time, dehydration drugs such as mannitol and glycerol fructose can be used under the guidance of a doctor to reduce intracranial pressure, and combined with comprehensive treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If necessary, surgery can be performed to remove the tumor to relieve symptoms;

In addition to the relatively common causes above, there are other possible diseases, such as cervical spondylosis, hypertension and other diseases. Some patients with cervical spondylosis may experience symptoms of dizziness and fatigue. When combined with cervical spondylosis, drugs such as flunarizine hydrochloride capsules can be added for treatment. If it is caused by hypertension, you need to follow the doctor's advice to use drugs such as nifedipine sustained-release tablets for antihypertensive treatment.
