Complications after cervical cancer surgery and their treatment methods

Complications after cervical cancer surgery and their treatment methods

Patients with cervical cancer may experience some postoperative complications after surgery, including infection and bleeding.

1. Infection: Since the cervix is a female reproductive organ, it is easy to be invaded by bacteria or viruses and cause infection after a total hysterectomy. Once such a situation is found, you need to go to the hospital in time and use antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor to control the development of the disease, such as cefixime capsules, amoxicillin granules, etc.

2. Bleeding: If the blood vessels are not properly ligated during hysterectomy, vaginal bleeding will not stop. At this time, you can use compression hemostasis methods to improve it, such as gauze packing or cotton ball pressure bandage, etc.; you can also use electrocoagulation therapy and cryotherapy to relieve it, so as to achieve the purpose of hemostasis;

3. Urinary retention: It is mainly caused by the influence of the nerve reflex between the bladder and the rectum. It can be promoted by inserting a catheter into the urethra for drainage. If necessary, physical therapy such as suprapubic cystocentesis or perineal prostate massage and acupuncture point stimulation can be used to help recovery.

4. Sexual dysfunction: Some people may also experience symptoms of difficulty in sexual life, which is usually caused by local tissue adhesions due to pelvic congestion. Symptoms can usually be alleviated through psychological counseling. In severe cases, it is necessary to cooperate with a doctor to take estrogen preparations to regulate the body. Commonly used drugs include diethylstilbestrol tablets, estradiol valerate tablets, etc.

In addition to the common conditions mentioned above, there may be other conditions, such as abdominal pain, constipation, etc. Patients are advised to pay attention to personal hygiene, change and wash underwear frequently, and avoid unclean sexual behavior. In terms of diet, try to eat light and easily digestible food, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat less spicy and greasy food.
