How to treat cervical cancer in its early stages

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cervix of the uterus. It is one of the common gynecological diseases in clinical practice. The treatment methods vary according to the clinical stage, mainly including drug therapy, surgical treatment and physical therapy.

1. Drug treatment

1. Chemotherapy: Since some patients are found to have lymph node metastasis during pathological examination before surgery, they need to use chemotherapy to prevent recurrence or metastasis. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include cisplatin injection, paclitaxel injection and gemcitabine injection, etc. However, it should be noted that these drugs have significant side effects, so it is necessary to strictly follow the doctor's instructions and have regular follow-up visits so that the doctor can understand the condition and adjust the treatment plan in time.

2. Surgical treatment

1. Total hysterectomy: For patients with early-stage cervical cancer, total hysterectomy is generally recommended to achieve a radical cure, which usually includes three surgical procedures: extrafascial hysterectomy, modified radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection. Extrafascial hysterectomy is suitable for patients with lesions located in the lower part; modified radical hysterectomy is suitable for patients with lesions located in the middle and upper parts; and pelvic lymph node dissection is suitable for patients who have not given birth or are young and require to retain their fertility.

2. Cervical conization: For patients with cervical carcinoma in situ or microinvasive carcinoma, cervical conization can also be selected for treatment, such as cold knife cervical conization, Lip knife cervical conization, etc. However, since this method cannot completely remove the lesion, there is still a possibility of recurrence after surgery, so regular follow-up should be performed according to the doctor's advice.

3. Physical therapy

At present, physical therapy such as freezing and laser is often used in clinical practice. It mainly uses low temperature or high heat to destroy diseased tissue cells to achieve the purpose of treatment. However, physical therapy may cause abnormal vaginal discharge and even affect normal ovulation, so it is not the first choice.

IV. Others

In addition to the common treatments mentioned above, patients who are in the late stage and cannot tolerate surgery can also use a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy for comprehensive treatment in order to control the progression of the disease. For areas where the nature of the diagnosis has not yet been clearly determined, local blockade with drugs such as triamcinolone acetonide acetate injection can also be considered, and treatment can be carried out after a clear diagnosis.
