Is melanoma a solid tumor?

Is melanoma a solid tumor?

Melanoma is a solid tumor, a malignant tumor that originates from melanocytes on the skin and mucous membranes. If melanoma occurs in the body, it is recommended that patients seek medical attention in a timely manner and receive targeted treatment under the guidance of a physician.

Melanocytes are responsible for producing pigment in the skin, eyes, and hair and can occur anywhere on the surface of the skin, but are most common on the back, scalp, face, ears, and extremities. They are usually associated with genetic factors, but are also influenced by environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation, chemical exposure, and the state of the immune system. Long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays, especially during childhood and adolescence, increases the risk of melanoma. Melanoma may appear as an ordinary mole or spot in the early stages, but over time, it may change, such as abnormalities in color, shape, size, and edges. Its characteristic appearance and color may be different from other skin spots, and sometimes symptoms such as asymmetry, irregular edges, mixed colors, or bleeding may occur.

Melanoma is a malignant disease caused by the abnormal proliferation of melanocytes, which can have an impact on physical health. It is recommended to avoid excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays, especially in children and adolescents, as it increases the risk of melanoma. Direct exposure should be avoided as much as possible during periods of high ultraviolet intensity, such as noon, and in environments with strong ultraviolet rays.

Patients should avoid strenuous exercise to avoid fatigue and affect their health. It is recommended to choose moderate light physical exercise, such as walking, Tai Chi, etc. Ensure 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night, avoid staying up late, and maintain a regular work and rest schedule to help restore physical health.
