What does a fibroid look like

What does a fibroid look like

The blue sky and white clouds, crossing the beautiful starry sky, also bring people a new hope. When you hear about tumors, you will still feel scared. Facing a tumor, it does not mean death. Combined with the advanced medical technology level, it is still possible to control the disease well and help prolong life. Fibroids are a very common malignant tumor, so what do fibroids look like?

Fibroids are well-differentiated subcutaneous connective tissue. They are benign tumors that rarely become malignant. Surgical resection is the main treatment. They are often found under the skin and grow slowly. They are usually small, with clear edges, smooth surfaces, hard texture, and can be pushed. If mixed with other components, they become fibromyoma, fibroadenoma, fibrolipoma, etc.

Neurofibroma is a benign tumor composed mainly of nerve sheath cells and fibroblasts, which can be divided into single and multiple types. Oral and maxillofacial neurofibromas often originate from the facial nerve and trigeminal nerve, grow slowly, and are common in young people. The surface skin of facial neurofibromas has brown spots of varying sizes, or gray-black dots or flaky lesions. During palpation, there are multiple tumor nodules in the skin, which are hard in texture and distributed along the subcutaneous nerves in a beaded or plexus-like shape. When the tumor comes from the sensory nerve, there may be obvious tenderness. In the area where the tumor is distributed by the nerves, there is sometimes abnormal proliferation of connective tissue, loose skin or folded drooping, covering the eyes, and causing functional disorders and facial deformities.

There are several types of fibroids:

1. Xanthofibroma

It is common in the dermis or subcutaneous layer of the trunk and proximal upper arm. It often arises from small papules after trauma or itching. The lumps are hard with unclear edges. Because they are accompanied by internal bleeding, they contain hemosiderin and are dark brown. If the tumor is larger than 1 cm and grows rapidly, it should be suspected to be fibrosarcoma and must be completely removed surgically.

2. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans

Located in the dermis, protruding from the body surface, with smooth surface skin, shaped like keloid, it is prone to occur on the trunk, is of low grade malignancy, has a pseudocapsule, is prone to recurrence after resection, and multiple recurrences increase the malignancy. It can metastasize through the bloodstream, and the tumor lesions containing enough normal skin and deep adjacent fascia should be removed as soon as possible.

3. Zygomatic fibroma

The abdominal wall muscles are formed by reparative hyperplasia after trauma or birth injury, have no obvious capsule, and are suitable for surgical removal.

Face fibroids positively and bravely, and with the cooperation of professional doctors, you can still control the disease well. Don't give up on yourself, do more physical exercise, relax your mind, and help improve your body's immunity.
