Cure rate of early kidney cancer

Cure rate of early kidney cancer

Cure rates for early-stage kidney cancer:

1. The cure rate of early kidney cancer is 80%~90%, and the ten-year survival rate is greater than 80%.

2. Kidney cancer is a malignant tumor originating from the epithelial cells of the urinary tubules in the renal parenchyma, also known as renal cell carcinoma and renal adenocarcinoma. The cause is still unclear, and may be related to genetics, environmental factors, diet, etc. There are basically no signs in the early stage of the disease. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as hematuria, painful urination, urinary retention, and kidney pain may appear, and some people may feel a mass in the abdomen.

3. If the disease can be diagnosed in the early stage and surgical resection is actively performed, such as radical nephrectomy, nephron-sparing surgery, laparoscopic surgery, etc., clinical cure may be achieved, with a cure rate of 80% to 90%. Even if the disease enters stage IIa or IIb, clinical cure can be achieved after surgical treatment, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, and the overall prognosis is good.

4. However, early detection of kidney cancer is more difficult, and most diagnoses have entered the middle and late stages. It is recommended that people with a family history of kidney cancer, a history of long-term smoking and drinking, and a history of occupational exposure should see a doctor regularly for targeted cancer prevention screening. Once the disease is diagnosed, they should actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment. After clinical cure, regular follow-up is also required to avoid recurrence of the disease.
