What causes nasopharyngeal cancer?

1. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mainly caused by Epstein-Barr virus infection, genetic and environmental factors. Once nasopharyngeal carcinoma is diagnosed, it needs active treatment to avoid adverse consequences.

2. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the epithelium of the nasopharyngeal mucosa. It mainly occurs in the top and side walls of the nasopharynx, especially the pharyngeal fossa. It is one of the common malignant tumors. The occurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mainly related to Epstein-Barr virus infection, genetic and environmental factors. Epstein-Barr virus mainly infects human oral epithelial cells and B cells and integrates into host cell DNA, preventing infected cells from apoptosis, activating their growth, and causing nasopharyngeal carcinoma. People's unhealthy lifestyles can also induce the occurrence of the disease, such as heavy smoking, eating pickled foods, and air pollution. It can cause symptoms such as nasal congestion, nasal bleeding, tinnitus, blurred vision, diplopia, hearing loss, and facial numbness.

3. If you have the above-mentioned discomfort symptoms, it is recommended to go to the ENT department of a regular hospital in time. After the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is confirmed, active treatment is required. Chemotherapy can be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. Commonly used drugs include cisplatin injection, paclitaxel injection, gemcitabine hydrochloride injection, etc., and can also be combined with comprehensive treatments such as radiotherapy. If necessary, surgical treatment can be performed, including endoscopic nasopharyngeal carcinoma resection, traditional open surgery, etc.

4. Patients should maintain a happy mood, have a regular schedule, eat a light diet, exercise appropriately, and increase their body resistance.
