What are the symptoms of advanced gastric cancer

What are the symptoms of mid-to-late stage gastric cancer?

Advanced gastric cancer often presents with symptoms such as weight loss, black stools, and anemia.

1. Weight loss: Gastric cancer is a common malignant digestive tract tumor. The cause of the disease is still unclear. It may be related to Helicobacter pylori infection or bad eating habits. In the early stages, the disease may not have obvious symptoms and be ignored, but in the middle and late stages, patients will experience symptoms of weight loss. This is because gastric cancer itself is a digestive system disease that consumes a large amount of nutrients in the body and may hinder the absorption of nutrients.

2. Black stool is caused by excessive erosion of gastric mucosa and blood vessels by cancer cells, which may lead to gastrointestinal bleeding. When this happens, the patient may have black stool, and some patients may also vomit blood.

3. Anemia is a disease caused by prolonged bleeding in the digestive tract or excessive blood loss in the body. Its symptoms include pale skin and mucous membranes, dizziness, tinnitus, rapid heartbeat, insomnia, and fatigue.

In addition to the common symptoms mentioned above, patients may also experience edema, fever and other discomfort. When the disease progresses to the middle and late stages, chemotherapy is usually used for treatment. Commonly used chemotherapy drugs include paclitaxel injection, cisplatin injection, capecitabine tablets, etc. If necessary, radiotherapy can also be used to prolong the patient's survival.
