What is the differential diagnosis of bladder cancer

What is the differential diagnosis of bladder cancer?

The differential diagnosis of bladder cancer is usually nonspecific cystitis, urinary stones, upper urinary tract tumors, etc. Patients are advised to go to the hospital in time and actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment.

1. Nonspecific cystitis:

It is more common in elderly women, with sudden onset of hematuria and bladder irritation symptoms. Urinalysis will reveal white blood cells, pus cells, urine culture, and bacterial growth. A clear diagnosis can be made through a blood test.

2. Urolithiasis:

The symptoms of hematuria caused by urolithiasis are relatively mild, mostly microscopic hematuria, which will be significantly aggravated after fatigue and is often accompanied by symptoms of pain from urinary stones. It can be clearly diagnosed through ultrasound, abdominal X-ray and intravenous pyelography.

3. Urinary tract tumors:

Bladder cancer is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system, which may be caused by long-term smoking or long-term exposure to industrial chemicals. It is easy for patients to show painless, intermittent, and macroscopic hematuria. Upper urinary tract tumors will also have similar symptoms of painless macroscopic hematuria as bladder cancer, but patients with upper urinary tract tumors will not have bladder irritation symptoms, and the urine blood clots are strip-shaped and do not contain slough. The source of hematuria can be accurately distinguished through imaging examinations and cystoscopy for identification.

In addition to the common differential diagnoses mentioned above, prostate cancer is usually included. When a patient is diagnosed with bladder cancer, he or she needs to go to the hospital in time and receive treatment with methotrexate tablets, cisplatin injection, gemcitabine hydrochloride injection and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.
