What diet can patients with nasopharyngeal cancer adjust?

Nasopharyngeal cancer is mainly caused by mental and emotional changes, emotional discomfort, visceral deficiencies, lack of positive energy, inability to adapt to changes in external climate and environment, or by inhalation of viruses, smoke, irregular diet, nasopharyngeal diseases, etc.

What kind of diet can patients with nasopharyngeal cancer use?

1. In daily diet, patients should eat light food, with soy milk, pear juice, carrot juice, lotus root juice, sugarcane juice, water chestnut juice, lotus seeds, mung beans, winter melon, watermelon, mushrooms, white fungus, turtle, oyster, lean pork, duck meat, eggs, etc.

2. Imperata juice, reed root, sweet almond, Rehmannia glutinosa, Polygonatum sibiricum, Dendrobium officinale, red dates, raw chestnuts, mung bean water, water chestnut, white radish, white pear, citrus, hawthorn, etc. are commonly used medicinal foods.

3. During radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, complementary foods should be used, and less food that produces dampness and eliminates phlegm, is sticky and turbid, or is fatty and sweet. Foods that have the effect of eliminating phlegm and dispersing knots can be selected, such as kelp, laver, asparagus, jellyfish, etc. When symptoms of liver fire inflammation such as dizziness, deafness, bitter mouth, and irritability occur, products that clear the liver and relieve heat, nourish yin and suppress yang should be selected to alleviate the symptoms, such as chrysanthemum tea, stir-fried bean seeds coffee, bitter melon tea, day lily, bitter melon, wolfberry seedlings, plums, abalone, mustard, etc.

4. Patients with nasopharyngeal cancer should not ignore taboos. They should avoid spicy foods such as peppers and fried foods; eat less dry and hot foods such as dog meat, mutton, rabbit meat, yellow croaker, hairtail, lychee, etc. Smoking and drinking are prohibited.
