How long can you live with small cell lung cancer?

For patients with middle and late stage small cell lung cancer who cannot be effectively treated, the prognosis is poor, and the patient's survival period is usually 1-3 years, or even shorter. Secondly, small cell lung cancer also needs chest radiotherapy, and brain metastasis may occur. If necessary, preventive brain radiotherapy is needed. Recurrence is likely to occur after about one year of treatment, and consolidation chemotherapy is needed if necessary. Small cell lung cancer, patients in the middle and late stages should be treated actively.
