Be careful that rhinitis may develop into nasopharyngeal cancer!

At present, the number of people suffering from rhinitis is increasing, and the age of patients is tending to be younger. The number of patients with rhinitis is increasing year by year, and the harm to the human body cannot be ignored. If you have rhinitis, you must treat it in time and never let it develop into a serious disease.

In real life, rhinitis mostly occurs in students. Since the early symptoms are not obvious, parents can easily ignore it and students themselves do not take it too seriously. Furthermore, misdiagnosis is common. The longer the rhinitis is not cured, the more likely it is to cause nasopharyngeal cancer.

But what are the differences between rhinitis and nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

1. In the early stage of nasopharyngeal cancer, there are usually symptoms such as tinnitus, dizziness, and blood in the mucus. Rhinitis is quite common in life, and patients with long-term and recurrent rhinitis will have symptoms of nasal congestion and nose bleeding. The two are easily confused, so some early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are easily overlooked.

2. Rhinitis patients have a history of frequent colds, and their nasal congestion is alternating and intermittent, and is related to body position. When lying on the side, the lower nasal congestion worsens, while the other side is well ventilated. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma nasal congestion usually starts as unilateral nasal congestion. As the tumor continues to grow, the nasal septum is squeezed to the opposite side and bilateral nasal congestion occurs, which is progressive and continuous.

3. Nasopharyngeal cancer has symptoms of nose bleeding. In the early stage, it is manifested as blood in the nasal discharge or a small amount of blood dripping from the nostrils. As the disease progresses, the amount of bleeding gradually increases. At the same time, there is a special odor in the nasal cavity. Especially when people over 40 years old have nose bleeding accompanied by unilateral nasal congestion and foul-smelling nasal discharge, the possibility of nasopharyngeal cancer should be considered.

Everyone should remember not to ignore that minor rhinitis. At the same time, you should do a good job in preventing nasopharyngeal cancer and avoid viral infection; quit smoking and drinking, and avoid inhaling harmful fumes, such as kerosene lamp gas, insecticide aerosols, etc.; once you find a nasopharyngeal disease, you should seek medical treatment as soon as possible.
