Skin cancer is a malignant tumor. The main symptom is a rapidly enlarging mass in a short period of time, followed by repeated skin ulcers and cauliflower-like neoplasms. The diagnosis is mainly confirmed by biopsy and pathological examination. For skin cancer, extended excision is the first choice. For metastatic skin cancer that cannot be treated surgically, iodine-125 particle internal radiotherapy or argon-helium cryoablation can be used. External radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also needed. Skin cancer treatment Skin cancer includes three main types, and the treatment methods are different. First, basal cell carcinoma of the skin is located in the superficial layer of the skin, without extensive infiltration or metastatic lesions. This type of cancer is mainly treated with extended excision. The malignancy is relatively low and the treatment effect is very good. The second type is squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, which may appear as a lump or cauliflower-shaped tumor on the skin. The squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is diagnosed by biopsy and pathology. There may be regional lymph node metastasis, and lymph node dissection is required. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also required after surgery. The third type is malignant melanoma, which is mainly manifested as a black tumor that repeatedly ruptures and does not heal. If surgery is possible, it must be performed first, followed by biological immunotherapy, targeted therapy, etc. after surgery. The malignancy is relatively high and the treatment effect is also the worst. Can skin cancer be cured? Skin cancer is a common malignant tumor of the skin. This disease progresses slowly and generally has little impact on the patient. Clinically, a pathological biopsy can confirm the diagnosis. The treatment of this disease is mainly surgical. During the operation, attention should be paid to whether there are residual cancer cells at the surgical margin. After surgery, it is determined whether radiotherapy is needed based on the pathological condition. Most skin cancers have good surgical treatment effects and can be cured. A small number of skin cancers, such as malignant melanoma, have a poor prognosis and should be treated with combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy after surgery to improve survival. |
