What are the post-treatment care for nasopharyngeal carcinoma? What are the six major precautions? Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a common malignant tumor in my country, especially in South China, accounting for more than 70% of head and neck malignant tumors in the region, and is a common disease that seriously endangers health. At present, comprehensive treatment methods mainly based on radiotherapy are still the first choice for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. At present, after comprehensive treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma mainly based on radiotherapy, nasal complications and their care are one of the malignant tumors with relatively good prognosis. The measures for post-treatment care of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are generally as follows: First: Rinse your mouth with light salt water to keep your mouth clean; and brush your teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush until the oral mucosa returns to normal. Second: Pay attention to protecting the skin in the irradiated area. The underwear should be soft, loose and highly absorbent. Avoid wiping the skin in the irradiated area with soap and rough towels. Avoid hot and cold stimulation. Do not use hot water bottles or hot compresses locally. Wear a hat when going out in the summer to prevent direct sunlight. When going out, you should wear a hat to protect the skin in the radiation area from exposure to the sun. Do not use external cosmetics or irritating ointments, and avoid using soapy water or irritating bath gel until the skin in the radiation area returns to normal. Third: In order to prevent temporomandibular joint stiffness and dysfunction, you should persevere and do mouth opening exercises more than 300 times a day. Fourth: Eat high-protein, high-vitamin, easily digestible foods, such as lean meat, eggs, fish, vegetables, and fruits, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. Fifth: Due to the low resistance after radiotherapy, tooth extraction in a short period of time will cause bacteria to enter the blood through the gums, causing osteomyelitis and bone necrosis. Sixth: You should get enough sleep and rest, increase nutrition, keep a good mood, avoid fatigue, and at the same time appropriately increase outdoor activities, such as taking walks, visiting parks, practicing Tai Chi, doing radio gymnastics, etc., to enhance your physical fitness and improve your body's resistance to disease. |
