What are the symptoms of spinal bone cancer

Spinal bone cancer may manifest as persistent back pain or localized pain, accompanied by symptoms of nerve compression, such as weakness or numbness in the limbs. If these symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

This disease is a malignant tumor in the skeletal system that may originate in the spine itself or be a metastasis from cancer elsewhere. Pain is usually the first sign, and is characteristically worse at night or not relieved by activity. As the disease progresses, it may compress the spinal cord or nerve roots, causing impaired perception or movement.

Some patients may experience pathological fractures, in which the bones break even without significant external force. Some may also experience varying degrees of weight loss, fatigue, and other systemic symptoms. These symptoms can easily be confused with common lumbar spine problems and should not be taken lightly.

If you experience the above symptoms, you should go to the hospital immediately and get a diagnosis through imaging examinations (such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI) and pathological tests. Even if it is just ordinary back pain, early evaluation can effectively rule out possible high-risk conditions. In daily life, you should also pay attention to protecting your spine, do more appropriate exercises, and avoid unnecessary external injuries.
