How many of the 6 things you need to do when you wake up in the morning have you not done?

As the saying goes, a day's plan begins in the morning. The traditional concept of health preservation attaches great importance to health preservation after getting up in the morning. The unity of man and nature and following the natural time are a major feature of the traditional concept of health preservation . Health preservation also starts from the morning. Most people either get up immediately or refuse to get out of bed when they wake up in the morning. In fact, both ways of getting up are not conducive to health. Because the body has not recovered from the suppressed state after a night's sleep, it is not advisable to do strenuous exercise or eat immediately. So what are the right things to do when you wake up in the morning?

1. Teeth tapping and abdomen rubbing

Teeth knocking is the fourth part of the "Eight-Section Brocade on Bed", and abdominal rubbing is the seventh part. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that teeth are the remains of bones, and tooth diseases are caused by the fumigation of fire in the spleen and stomach. Therefore, teeth are closely related to the activities of internal organs such as the stomach, intestines, spleen, kidneys, and liver. Therefore, teeth tapping is a way to strengthen teeth and keep fit. The method is to relax your whole body when you wake up every morning, lie on your back, chew your teeth, and gently tap your teeth 60 to 100 times, or more times (you can also tap them casually when you are working or studying). It is beneficial to keeping your teeth healthy and your body strong.
Abdominal massage helps enhance gastrointestinal function, and is especially necessary for those with habitual constipation. The method is to lie on your back and relax. First, use your right palm to rub the chest and abdomen from the chest to below the navel in a clockwise direction for 80 to 100 times. Then use your left palm to rub the chest and abdomen in a counterclockwise direction for 80 to 100 times. Later, you can gradually increase to 200 times. Teeth tapping and abdominal rubbing can be done at the same time.

2. Rubbing the nose with “beating the drum”

The ancients called "beating the drum" "beating the sky drum". The method is: sit down, press the two ear holes with the palms of both hands, and lightly tap the occipital bone a dozen times with the middle three fingers of both hands - index finger, middle finger, ring finger. Then, press the ear holes with the palms and the occipital bone with the fingers for a few seconds without moving, and then suddenly lift them away. After a while, press the ears and occipital bone as before. You can hear the sound of drums when beating, hence the name. Repeat this several times. It can clear the mind, enhance memory, and also dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
The ancients called rubbing the nose "bathing the nose". Bend the thumbs of both hands slightly and make fists with the other four fingers. Use the backs of your slightly bent thumbs to rub back and forth along both sides of the bridge of your nose, dozens to hundreds of times each time (you can do this whenever you have free time). Its function is to promote blood circulation in the nasal cavity and maintain normal temperature, thereby preventing colds. If you have caught a cold, increase the number of times you rub your nose and do it once in the morning and once in the evening. This can help to heal the cold without taking any medicine.

3. Clear your bowels

Regular and smooth bowel movements are essential to human health. Having bowel movements on time every day can reduce the retention of food residues in the intestines, thereby avoiding the growth of harmful bacteria and reducing the occurrence of gastrointestinal diseases (serious ones such as colon cancer). But it is best to have a bowel movement after breakfast. This is because after breakfast enters the gastrointestinal tract, it increases the internal pressure of the abdominal cavity, forcing the food residues in the intestines from the previous day to be excreted more cleanly.

4. Take a deep breath

Early in the morning (except on foggy days), go to a spacious courtyard or field, stretch your arms and bend your waist, step and kick your feet to move your body, and then take deep breaths for 10 to 15 minutes. This method not only enhances lung capacity, but also clears the mind and boosts spirits. This is especially necessary for people who have difficulty moving and cannot participate in other exercise activities.

5. Look far and wide

As the saying goes, "Green is life". Looking at more green and looking into the distance every morning is beneficial to improving eyesight and preventing myopia. Method: Stand at attention, breathe naturally, look straight ahead, try your best to stare at the green trees and green mountains in the distance for about 1-2 minutes, then close your eyes and bow your head and be silent for a while, turn your head and look to the left for 1-2 minutes (turn your neck but not your waist); then close your eyes and bow your head and be silent for a while, then turn to the right and look into the distance, repeat this several times, for a total of about 15-20 minutes (the longer the better).

6. Eat a good breakfast

Nowadays, many elderly people like to sleep in (especially in winter and spring), thinking it is the best "enjoyment". When they get up and wash up, it is too late to move around and have breakfast. Some people just fill their stomachs casually, and some even go out on an empty stomach. This is the worst habit. Breakfast should not only be eaten well, but also eaten enough to provide the body with the energy it needs to consume in the morning. If you often skip breakfast or eat very little and carelessly, the blood sugar level in your body will be insufficient, which can cause palpitations, dizziness, and limb weakness. Over time, it can also cause gastrointestinal diseases and affect your health.
