Will I have stomach pain during ovulation?

Women always experience different body pains, especially abdominal pain. For example, menstrual pain, this type of pain is divided into primary and secondary types. Another example is the pain in the abdomen during childbirth, which manifests as labor pains. In addition, there is another type of abdominal pain that occurs during a woman's ovulation period. There are two types of abdominal pain during ovulation. One is physiological pain, which is usually not easy to detect, and the other is pathological pain, which is often caused by ovulation disorders.

1. Causes of abdominal pain during ovulation

The body will feel pain during ovulation, usually in two situations.

The first one is the pre-ovulation period, which is the middle period between two menstrual periods. If you can feel pain in the lower abdomen at this time, it is called middle pain, which may mean that your body is ovulating.

Secondly, if a woman has ovulation disorders, she will also experience lower abdominal pain during ovulation. Ovulation disorders can be seen from some physical manifestations, such as menstrual disorders, obesity, hirsutism, etc. If the ovulation disorder is serious, it will lead to unstable sex hormone metabolism in the body, which may easily lead to infertility and breast hyperplasia. If you experience abdominal pain during ovulation and the condition is severe, you can go to the hospital for examination. If no other causes are found, it means the condition is normal. Pay more attention to rest and avoid strenuous exercise. There is no need to be too nervous.

2. What is ovulation abdominal pain

Ovulation abdominal pain is a functional abdominal pain disease in women. The pain often occurs in the middle of two menstrual cycles. For example, for women with a menstrual cycle of 28 days, the abdominal pain usually occurs about 14 days before the next menstruation, which is equivalent to the time of ovulation, hence the name.

3. Symptoms and causes of ovulation abdominal pain

Abdominal pain is often in the lower abdomen on one side. The pain is not severe and is dull, lacking or distending. It is often not a concern for women and does not cause serious harm. This pain lasts about half a day to a day and then subsides on its own. Therefore, women often don’t care about it. Even if they know they have abdominal pain, they will just endure it and it will pass. Ovulation abdominal pain is a physiological abdominal pain, similar to female primary dysmenorrhea. The difference is that this pain is caused by the rupture of the ovarian follicles during ovulation and the stimulation of the peritoneum by the follicular fluid after ovulation. Therefore, the abdominal pain is relatively mild. Primary menstrual cramps are caused by the contraction of the endometrium when it is shedding. Normally, the two ovaries in a woman's body ovulate in turn, once a month, so abdominal pain also occurs cyclically once a month, often with pain alternating between the left and right lower abdomen. When patients with ovulation abdominal pain go to the hospital for treatment, general gynecological examinations are completely normal. There are no pathological changes. As women age and the number of ovulations accumulates, many people will gradually adapt.
