What to do with kidney stones

Do you know how kidney stones are formed? Many people don't know much about it. Even if they do, it is only explained to them by experts during treatment after they have suffered from kidney stones. In fact, the occurrence of kidney stones has a lot to do with our daily diet. The symptoms of kidney stones mainly include difficulty urinating and pain. What should I do if I have kidney stones?

Kidney stones are a serious disease among urinary system diseases. If not treated effectively, it is easy to cause complications of kidney stones, such as obstruction of the urinary system, urinary tract infection, and renal insufficiency. Therefore, the treatment of kidney stones cannot be ignored. What should we do if we have kidney stones?

1. Drink plenty of water every day, including at night. Don't be afraid to get up at night. Drinking water can increase urine volume, dilute the concentration of stone-forming substances in the urine, and reduce crystal deposition.

2. In addition to increasing urine volume, drinking water can also help smaller stones be discharged from the body automatically.

3. Among urinary stones, calcium oxalate stones are the most common. Patients who usually eat high-calcium foods should reduce the intake of calcium-containing foods and control the consumption of milk, animal bones, soy products and other foods.

4. Foods such as spinach, strong tea, tomatoes, and nuts contain high levels of oxalic acid. Excessive intake can cause the formation of oxalate stones, so they should be consumed in limited amounts.

5. When using drug treatment, the appropriate drug for acidifying or alkalizing urine should be determined based on the analysis results of the stones that have been expelled or removed.

6. Kidney stones smaller than 2.5 cm can be treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, a non-invasive treatment with a very high success rate.

What should you do if you have kidney stones? Of course, you must receive symptomatic treatment. At the same time, we must also provide good care for our daily lives. Experts say that kidney stones can be prevented because the occurrence of kidney stones is related to diet. So of course we have to start preventing kidney stones with diet, such as eating less foods high in purine, eating less foods high in sugar, and not eating excessive amounts of high-protein foods.
