Half-court basketball rules

As the NBA is gaining more and more attention in China, everyone is basically familiar with the rules of basketball. Today I would like to introduce to you a new way to play basketball - half-court basketball. Half-court basketball only requires half of the basketball court, and both teams shoot the ball into the same basket. Since the court is relatively small, half-court basketball games are more intense, and the offense and defense transitions between the two sides are faster. Half-court basketball is figuratively called "bullfighting."

Half-court basketball games stipulate that each side can only have four players register to participate, and the number of people who can play on the game at the same time is 3 per team. Substitutions can only be made when a dead ball occurs, and the substituted players cannot play again in the entire game. This is very different from a full-court basketball game. Due to the small size of the court, the offensive time is set at twenty seconds. If a shot is not made within twenty seconds, it is considered a twenty-second violation.

If one side violates the rules, the ball will be given to the other side. For out-of-bounds balls, fouls, violations and field goals where the other side needs to serve, the ball is served at the free throw arc in the center circle. If there is a scramble for the ball, players from both sides will jump at the free throw line. After the ball goes in, the other team serves. The serving player cannot dribble the ball or shoot directly, but must pass the ball to other players on his team at the free throw arc. The captain is the only speaker.

Each game is divided into two halves, each half lasting ten minutes, with a five-minute break between the two halves. Both sides have one opportunity to call a timeout during the entire game, and the timeout lasts for one minute. Each player is allowed three fouls, and the fourth foul will result in a player being sent off. When the total number of fouls committed by the team exceeds five, the opposing team will be awarded two free throws, and each rebound must be quickly passed to the three-point line.

Otherwise, a violation will be called. If it is a foul on a player who is shooting, if the ball goes in, no penalty will be added. If it does not go in, one penalty will be added. This is also very different from full-court basketball. At the beginning of the game, both sides decide the right to serve by tossing a coin. When the whole game time is up, the team with the leading score wins. If there is a tie, both sides will take free throws in turn. The game ends when one side leads by one point. If it is a final, three minutes of overtime will be required.
