Menstruation is a special physiological phenomenon of women. Women all have a uterus, which is the cradle for women to conceive babies. Every month, the uterus prepares for the arrival of new life. If the cradle cannot wait for the arrival of new life, it will fall off, which is menstruation. Many girls call menstruation "a good friend is coming" or "my period is coming", which shows that menstruation has a very close relationship with girls. It is normal for menstruation to occur once a month. Medical terminology refers to a cycle of 21 days or less as "frequent menstruation", on the other hand, a cycle of 40 days or more is called "oligomenorrhea", and a cycle of more than 90 days is called "amenorrhea". Malnutrition can easily lead to amenorrhea. Menstruation is regulated by the reproductive hormone system and is necessary for biological reproduction. A woman's first menstruation is called menarche, and the onset of menarche marks the entry of a woman into puberty. The average age of menarche for girls is 12 years old, but it is normal to have menarche between the ages of 8 and 16. Many factors, including genetics, diet, and physical health, can cause menarche to come earlier or later. The cessation of menstruation marks that a woman has entered menopause, also known as menopause. The average age of menopausal women is 51 years old. Of course, just like menarche, many factors such as genetics, disease, surgery and medical treatment can advance or delay menopause. It is normal to enter menopause between the ages of 40 and 58. Menopause occurring before the age of 35 is defined as premature aging. The length of the menstrual cycle varies from person to person. Every woman's menstrual cycle is long or short. It is normal for a woman's longest cycle minus the shortest cycle to be within 8 days. It is very rare for women to have a period that differs by less than 4 days. The difference in length between 8 and 20 days is somewhat abnormal. For women, a difference of more than 21 days in length is considered a serious abnormality. Girls should learn how to calculate the menstrual cycle and control their menstruation correctly. If there are serious abnormalities, they should seek medical attention in time. Abnormal menstruation may indicate a disease or pregnancy. Women can eat some iron-rich foods during menstruation to replenish the loss of iron in the body. Menstruation usually accompanies a woman for thirty years. |
