I always feel my legs shaking when I sleep, maybe it's due to psychological problems

When Aunt Zhang sleeps at night, her legs will shake from time to time, as if there are ants crawling on them. It is painful and itchy. She has to get up and move around to relieve the pain. She often toss and turn until three or four in the morning before she can fall asleep. After going to the hospital for a check-up, I found out that I was suffering from "restless legs syndrome", a disease that is closely related to psychology.

The sensation is located deep in the muscles. Some patients say it is "in the bones." The calves are most common and the symptoms are usually symmetrical. Involuntary flexion of the calves often occurs during the day, and paroxysmal muscle spasms occur at night. Clinically, it is found that depression and anxiety can aggravate the symptoms, while maintaining a good attitude can alleviate them, so this is a psychological-related disease.

Restless legs syndrome is treatable. People with mild symptoms should avoid fatigue and cold. If they also suffer from anemia, diabetes, etc., they should actively seek treatment. Severe cases require drug treatment. In addition, patients should avoid reading suspense novels or watching war-related movies and TV dramas before going to bed. They can do appropriate exercise before going to bed, especially leg exercises, but it must be moderate and not too tiring. Cooler weather and humid climates can make symptoms worse, so you should stay warm when you sleep. Don't smoke and drink less coffee to avoid exciting your nerves.
