Is developmental delay cerebral palsy?

The era we live in now is an age of science and information. We can obtain some knowledge we want to know through many means, such as computers, mobile phones, televisions, etc. are all a way of learning. So here I would like to introduce the question of whether developmental delay is cerebral palsy. There must be some people who need to know about this knowledge.

Is developmental delay cerebral palsy? This is a question that parents are very concerned about. Why do their children develop so slowly? They must think that there is some disease. Here I will quote the doctor's answer to solve this problem for you. After all, this is not a trivial matter. Please see below:

Brain retardation is a precursor to cerebral palsy. Children with cerebral palsy must have brain retardation, but children with brain retardation do not necessarily have cerebral palsy. Children with mild brain retardation are suspected of cerebral palsy before 7 months old. Such children need to be diagnosed with cerebral palsy after 7 months. Children with severe symptoms are directly diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Symptoms of brain retardation include muscle weakness. Observe the movements of your child's hands:

1. Muscle strength level 0, fingers cannot move when making a fist.

2. Muscle strength level 1, fingers can move.

3. Muscle strength level 2, hands can be lifted slightly off the bed.

4. Muscle strength level 3, hands can be raised more than 45 degrees.

5. Muscle strength level 4, hands can move freely and can eat.

6. Muscle strength level 5, waist is strong, head can turn left and right when upright, feet have strong ground contact.

Level 5 is normal, level 4 is mild, level 3 is moderate, and the others are severe. Mild and moderate cases are called brain retardation, and severe cases are called cerebral palsy. Children need to receive treatment as soon as possible because 2/3 of these children have varying degrees of mental retardation. The treatment effect is best when the child is 1 to 3 months old, the effect is average before 6 months old, and after one year old, only basic recovery can be achieved.

Through the above introduction, everyone has a satisfactory answer to the question of whether developmental delay is cerebral palsy. I hope that if you encounter this problem, please ask a doctor for help in time. I also hope that your children can grow up healthily. Remember to share the knowledge you have learned with your colleagues. This is the best thing for everyone.
