Massage is a method of treating diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. The efficacy and effects of massage are very obvious. We often use massage to prevent and treat diseases. Massage has many benefits for our human body. Massage can not only improve our immunity but also promote our metabolism and blood circulation. However, we should also know that massage has certain taboos.

What are the taboos of massage? We must pay attention to these taboos when doing massage, so that the massage can play the greatest effect and avoid the occurrence of some adverse effects.

Massage is good at relaxing muscles and tendons, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and relieving pain, so it is most commonly used for traumatic diseases and various pain syndromes. However, massage is not allowed in the following situations:

1. Patients with influenza, Japanese encephalitis, meningitis, diphtheria, dysentery and other acute infectious diseases.

2. Patients with acute inflammation, such as acute suppurative tonsillitis, pneumonia, acute appendicitis, cellulitis, etc.

3. Certain chronic inflammations such as tuberculosis of limb joints, spinal tuberculosis, and osteomyelitis.

4. People with serious heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease and lung disease.

5. People who are extremely thin and weak due to malignant tumors, pernicious anemia, long-term illness, or other physical weakness.

6. Patients with thrombocytopenic purpura or allergic purpura.

7. Patients with large areas of skin or ulcerative dermatitis.
