There are seven kinds of food in the refrigerator. Common knowledge you must know about home life

Nowadays, every household has a refrigerator, and using it correctly can contribute to health. On the contrary, improper use may endanger health. As a nutritionist, how do I use a refrigerator? Let me share with you some of my experiences and tips.

Of course, it is best to eat fresh food, but many office workers are too busy to go to the market to buy fresh food every day. For this group of people, it is helpful to use their rest time to buy some healthy food in advance and put it in the refrigerator so that they can take it and eat it whenever they want, which is conducive to a balanced diet. I recommend that you always have the following seven kinds of food in your home refrigerator.

vegetable. Fresh vegetables are difficult to store and a lot of nutrients will be lost over time. It is recommended that you put some quick-frozen vegetables in the refrigerator, such as green beans, corn kernels, carrot kernels, etc. Quick-frozen vegetables are picked when they are most nutritious and frozen immediately to preserve their nutritional value. Fresh cabbage, Chinese cabbage, etc. are easier to store, and you can put some in the refrigerator's fresh-keeping room.

Whole grain staple food. You can also keep some whole-wheat steamed bread, wowotou, or other staple foods with added grains and beans in the refrigerator. Whole grain staple foods are rich in dietary fiber and B vitamins, which are good for health.

poultry. Chinese people eat more pork, beef and other animal meat, and less poultry meat such as chicken and duck, and tend to consume too much fat. It is recommended to store some poultry such as chicken wings and duck legs in the refrigerator so that you can take them whenever you want and they are easy to cook.

Quick-frozen fish fillet. Fish is rich in nutrients and low in fat. You can buy a few packs of vacuum-frozen quick-frozen fish fillets in the supermarket and put them in the freezer. Take it out of the freezer 8 to 10 hours before eating and thaw it in the refrigerator. You can also buy some quick-frozen shrimp.

egg. Eggs have always been known as "complete nutritious food". The surface of eggs is naturally covered with a layer of antibacterial substances, but the eggs packaged in boxes in supermarkets have been cleaned and disinfected, and the "protective film" has been removed, so it is best to put them in the refrigerator.

Dairy products. Dairy products are rich in nutrients, so you should have more milk, yogurt or cheese at home to supplement high-quality protein.

nut. Nuts such as almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pine nuts, etc. are rich in vitamin E and healthy fatty acids, and are very beneficial to health, but they are easy to become rancid and spoil, so they must be stored in the refrigerator.

Three tips for using your refrigerator well

Although it is easy to use a refrigerator, if you want to use it scientifically, you need to master three things.

Keep raw and cooked food separate. Generally speaking, food that is eaten directly should be placed on the top two layers, such as leftovers, yogurt, milk, cooked food, etc., while raw food should be placed on the bottom two layers, such as raw vegetables, raw tofu, etc.

Store different foods in different locations. Generally speaking, the bottom of a refrigerator is colder than the top; the deeper inside is colder than near the door. Bean products, dairy products, and leftover food that are not afraid of freezing can be placed closer to the inside; vegetables, fruits, and other foods that are afraid of freezing can be placed closer to the outside.

The part of the refrigerator where the door is open has the highest temperature and is suitable for storing non-perishable foods, such as eggs, cheese, dried fish, dried shrimps, dried shrimps, etc.

Fresh meat, fish, shrimp, etc. are most likely to spoil when they are not frozen, so it is best to place them in a zero-degree refrigerated storage box. If the refrigerator does not have this function, it should be placed in a sealed fresh-keeping box and placed at the bottom inner part of the refrigerator compartment.

The refrigerator is only 70% full. Leave some space between foods or containers in the refrigerator to facilitate cold air circulation and ensure that the temperature reaches the standard. Therefore, the refrigerator should not be filled more than 70% full.

Five steps to clean your refrigerator

The survey shows that the inside of the refrigerator is the second most polluted area in the home. 46% of household refrigerators have excessive bacteria inside, including E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria. Regular cleaning is very important.

Emptying the refrigerator is the first step. Before cleaning the refrigerator, turn off the power and take out all the food in the refrigerator. Then take out the shelves, fruit and vegetable boxes, etc. in the refrigerator, clean them with detergent, and set them aside to dry.

Natural defrost refrigerator. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice from the refrigerator, and do not apply hot towels, as this may easily cause the refrigerator to malfunction.

Wipe clean inside and outside. After cleaning the inside of the refrigerator, leave the door open and let it air dry naturally, then wipe the outside of the refrigerator. For areas with oil stains or dirt, you can use a toothbrush dipped in detergent to gently scrub them, then wipe them dry with a soft cloth.

Don’t miss any dead corners when cleaning. Finally, clean the ventilation grille on the back of the refrigerator with a soft brush and then wipe it dry with a dry soft cloth. It should be noted that the sealing strip on the refrigerator door is a cleaning dead corner, and there may be more than 20 kinds of microorganisms on it. It is best to wipe it with a soft cloth soaked in alcohol.

Activated carbon bag removes odors. Activated carbon can absorb harmful substances and can also remove odors in the refrigerator, especially the smell of leftovers. Generally, a small charcoal bag is placed in a double-door refrigerator. A few more can be placed in a three-door or multi-door refrigerator. The charcoal bag can be replaced frequently according to the amount of things stored in the refrigerator.
