Normal value of hemoglobin in normal people

All cells in our body are composed of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a very important substance in our blood. If the body lacks hemoglobin, it will cause an increase in white blood cells in the body, which may cause leukemia. Hemoglobin can provide immunity to our body and is the most indispensable substance in our body metabolism. So what is the normal hemoglobin value?

What is Hemoglobin:

Hemoglobin is a protein responsible for carrying oxygen and making blood red in higher organisms (abbreviated as HB or HGB). Red blood cells contain a large amount of hemoglobin (Hb), and the functions of red blood cells are mainly performed by hemoglobin. In addition to acting as a blood buffer, hemoglobin can also serve as the body's "transport team" to carry oxygen from the lungs to tissues via arterial blood, and to carry carbon dioxide produced by tissue metabolism to the lungs via venous blood and then excreted from the body. The characteristics of hemoglobin are: it easily combines with oxygen in places with high oxygen content; and it easily separates from oxygen in places with low oxygen content. This characteristic of hemoglobin enables red blood cells to transport oxygen.

Causes of high hemoglobin:

There are many reasons for high hemoglobin, which can be roughly divided into physiological increase and pathological increase. Physiological increase is common in plateau residents, fetuses and newborns, strenuous exercise, heavy sweating, fear, etc.; pathological increase is common in large-area burns, severe diarrhea, chronic adrenal insufficiency, diabetes insipidus, hyperthyroidism, cardiopulmonary disease, vascular malformations and other diseases. If your hemoglobin is high, you can take some Chinese medicine to regulate your body, exercise more, and eat healthily.

Causes of low hemoglobin:

Hemoglobin is a component of red blood cells; therefore, its reduction degree is the same as that of red blood cells. It is common in bleeding caused by massive bleeding, aplastic anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute and chronic nephritis. Chronic and recurrent bleeding can also cause a decrease in hemoglobin, such as gastric ulcers, gastrointestinal tumors, menorrhagia in women, hemorrhoidal bleeding, etc. When the degree of red blood cell reduction is more serious than that of hemoglobin, it is seen in macrocytic hyperchromic anemia, such as nutritional anemia caused by vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency, and anemia caused by chronic liver disease.

Common symptoms of low hemoglobin: tiredness, weakness, dizziness and light-headedness, inability to complete daily physical activities normally, shortness of breath and chest pain, palpitations, severe anemia symptoms such as pale skin, tongue and nails, hair loss, etc.

How to treat low hemoglobin:

Treatment for low hemoglobin depends on the specific cause. Typically, following a healthy diet that includes plenty of green, leafy vegetables is the best way to increase hemoglobin levels. It is best for women to take nutritional supplements such as iron and calcium tablets, as well as vitamins, which can avoid any type of nutritional deficiency. People with iron deficiency anemia can take iron supplements to help raise their hemoglobin levels. But if the above measures still don't work, it's best to see a doctor to help check if there are other diseases.

Although low hemoglobin is not a life-threatening condition, precautions should be taken to avoid further complications. If you notice any symptoms of low hemoglobin, you should seek treatment as soon as possible.
