The therapeutic principle of ear acupoint pressure bean method

Many people have discussed the ear acupoint pressing bean method and want to know the principle behind it and why it is so effective. First of all, we need to understand what is the ear acupoint pressure bean method. It is an external treatment method that uses adhesive tape to stick medicine beans accurately to the ear acupoints, and give appropriate kneading, pressing, pinching and pressing to produce stimulation such as numbness, swelling and pain to achieve the purpose of treatment. Also known as auricular acupoint compression therapy. Let us now introduce his treatment principles in detail.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the human body is an organic whole, with the internal organs and limbs connected to each other through meridians distributed throughout the body. Any external physiological and pathological reactions are the physiological and pathological manifestations reflected by the internal organs. The normal and abnormal conditions are diagnosed through the combined method of observation, auscultation, questioning and palpation, and medication is prescribed based on the syndrome differentiation. The use of auricular acupuncture to diagnose and treat diseases was recorded as early as 2,000 years ago in the "Lingshu Juebing" chapter; subsequently, doctors of all generations conducted relevant research on the mechanism of auricular acupuncture treatment and believed that the ear is the place where qi and blood of the twelve meridians converge. Just as it is said in the chapter "Lingshu?Evil Qi Zangfu Disease Forms" "The twelve meridians and three hundred and sixty-five collaterals, their blood and qi all go up to the face and run through the orifices, their refined yang qi runs to the eyes and becomes the pupils, and their other qi runs to the ears and becomes hearing." According to the total information theory, the ear is considered to be an inverted fetus, and the internal organs and limbs and torso all have corresponding points in the auricle. Through the changes in color and shape of these corresponding points, as well as local desquamation, papules, nodules, tenderness and sensitivity, the physiological and pathological changes of the internal organs can be diagnosed through visual examination of the auricle; by selecting these corresponding points as pressure beans, and applying external force stimulation such as pressing, pressing and pinching, the internal organs and qi and blood disorders can be adjusted through the sensory transmission effect of nerves and meridians. From the anatomical relationship of the auricle, we know that the auricular nerve distribution is very rich, including the greater auricular nerve, lesser occipital nerve, auriculotemporal nerve, vagus nerve, and glossopharyngeal and facial mixed nerve; at the same time, it proves the statement in the Lingshu chapter of Huangdi Neijing that "the branches of the foot Taiyang go to the upper corner of the ear, the foot Yangming goes up in front of the ear, the foot Shaoyang goes down behind the ear and branches to the middle of the ear, the branches of the hand Taiyang go to the upper corner of the ear, the hand Yangming collateral enters the ear, and the Yin meridian joins the Yang meridian through its collateral and gathers with the ear." All of these indicate that the five internal organs and the twelve meridians all converge in the ears.

There are many indications for ear acupoint pressure bean therapy and it has many benefits. If you have a corresponding disease, it is recommended that you try it. However, if you feel uncomfortable, you must consult a doctor in time and do not experiment blindly.
