What are the uses of angelica?

Many friends don’t know much about the uses of Angelica sinensis because we know that Angelica sinensis is a traditional Chinese medicine. Generally speaking, only when we have a disease and need to use Chinese medicine for treatment, we will want to know some about the effects of Chinese medicine. Angelica sinensis is a common Chinese medicine and it also has very important uses. Only when we understand the uses of Angelica sinensis, we can refer to its uses when using Angelica sinensis. However, we rarely encounter such problems in our daily lives, but we also need to understand the uses of angelica.

The dry roots can be divided into three parts: the root head is called the head of the root, the main root is called the body of the root, and the branch roots and the tips of the branch roots are called the tail of the root.

The total length is about 10 to 25 cm, and the body length is about 3 to 10 cm.

The diameter of the head is 2 to 4 cm, and the diameter of the branch root is 0.3 to 1 cm.

The appearance is gray-brown or brown-brown, with longitudinal wrinkles all over, especially on the rootlets. The top of the head is round and flat, with stem and leaf residues, and often with inconspicuous annular wrinkles. The body of the plant is slightly cylindrical, with an uneven surface, and there are 3 to 5 or more tails underneath. The tails are thick on the top and thin on the bottom, mostly twisted, and have small bumpy root traces on the surface.

The texture is mostly flexible, the cross section is yellowish-white with cracks, the middle layer has light brown rings, and there are many brown oil spots.

It has a strong fragrance and tastes sweet and slightly bitter.

The best ones are those with a large taproot, long body, few side roots, yellow-white cross-section and strong smell.

Those with short taproots, many side roots, weak odor and reddish-brown cross-section are of inferior quality.

The whole plant has a fragrance, which shows that each part contains volatile oil, and the fruit contains a particularly high content.

The roots of Angelica sinensis and Angelica dahurica contain about 0.2% volatile oil, including phthalides such as angelica phthalide, butylphthalide, cnidium phthalide and isocnidium phthalide.

In addition, it also contains sesquiterpenes, p-cymene, sucrose, vitamin B12, niacin, folic acid and β-sitosterol.

The former also contains butylphthalide and serdan acid lactone.

The volatile oils of the roots and fruits of the two angelica species also contain butanol and acetic acid.

[Preparation] Angelica: Pick out impurities, wash, and let it soak. Let it air-dry until the internal and external humidity is appropriate, then slice it and dry it in the sun.

Angelica with wine: Take angelica slices, spray them evenly with rice wine, simmer for a while, put them in a pot and stir-fry over low heat, take them out and let them cool.

(For every 100 jin of Angelicae Sinensis slices, use 10 jin of yellow wine) "Leigong Paozhi Lun": When using Angelicae Sinensis, first remove the dust and the hard part of the tip, and soak it in wine overnight.

The above content is about the use of Angelica sinensis. I believe many of our friends have already understood it. Then when we encounter the situation of using Angelica sinensis in life, we can use the above content to effectively use this Chinese medicinal material. Only by effectively utilizing the benefits of angelica can we effectively treat diseases that can be treated with angelica and ensure our health.
