The longer a man's organ grows, the more dangerous it is

Recently, Fatty Li's nose has been growing bigger and bigger. Many children in the community call him "Zhu Bajie" when they see him. Not only does he have a big nose, but he also snores a lot and has trouble breathing. This is extremely annoying for him. He can't help but wonder, will his nose grow bigger as he gets fatter? He went to the hospital to consult a doctor. After examination, it turned out that the big nose was caused by nasal polyps!

Why do nasal polyps not cause pain or itching?

Experts point out that nasal polyps are common nasal lesions. They are protruding lumps on the nasal or sinus mucosa, and are more common on the outer wall of the nasal cavity and the top of the nose. Nasal polyps are not true tumors, but are often the result of nasal mucosal edema caused by allergic reactions and chronic sinus inflammation. When nasal polyps grow without any other symptoms causing them, they are generally painless and itchy. If they are not discovered or treated for a long time, the following symptoms will appear. At this time, you should consider whether there is also a problem with nasal polyps.

Symptoms of nasal polyps:

1. Decreased or even absent sense of smell.

2. Dizziness and headache: The secretions of nasal polyposis are mostly serous and mucous. If there is a concurrent infection, there may be purulent secretions. The continued growth and enlargement of polyps will affect the sinuses. When the nasal discharge cannot flow out, it will not only significantly aggravate the nasal congestion but also cause dizziness or headache.

3. Sneezing and clear runny nose: Since polyps have no nerve distribution, patients rarely sneeze. However, if there is allergic inflammation of the nasal mucosa, symptoms such as sneezing and clear runny nose may also occur.

4. Nasal congestion: The patient's nasal congestion progressively worsens and gradually becomes persistent, and the patient may even breathe through the mouth at night. It is caused by the blockage of the upper part of the nasal cavity by polyps. Since there are few blood vessels in the polyps, vasoconstrictor nasal drops have no obvious effect.

Improper treatment of nasal polyps can easily lead to recurrence

The effect of drug treatment for nasal polyps is not good, and surgical treatment is recommended. Otherwise, if nasal polyps are not treated for a long time, it may cause many complications, such as pharyngitis, otitis media, and damage to the functions of organs such as the heart and lungs, and in severe cases, even malignant changes may occur. A small number of giant nasal polyps can cause invasive complications. Those nasal polyps that grow faster and are larger in size will squeeze and destroy the sinus wall or the roof of the nasal cavity, and then invade the orbit, frontal sinus, anterior cranial fossa, sphenoid sinus and middle cranial fossa.

In daily life, a little carelessness may induce nasal polyps, which is hard to guard against. But any disease can be prevented. As long as the method is correct, it will build a protective wall for my health. So, what should we pay attention to in order to prevent nasal polyps?

1. Be careful of colds. A long-term cold that does not heal can easily lead to nasal polyps. Postoperative review and prevention are also key points.

2. Dietary nutrition. In terms of dietary prevention, eat less greasy and fatty foods, avoid overeating raw, cold, fish, shrimp and other fishy and meaty foods, quit smoking and drinking, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and eat more vegetables, fruits, animal liver and other foods.

3. Exercise. Strengthening physical fitness is a critical issue. Only when physical fitness is strengthened can the incidence of various diseases, especially nasal diseases, be reduced.

4. Actively prevent and treat various chronic nasal diseases. For example, in cases of rhinitis and sinusitis, obstructive lesions near the sinus openings should be removed to prevent the formation of polyps.

Reminder: In addition to myself, I also have to pay more attention to my children. You know, nasal polyps are notoriously prone to recurrence. Once you get it, it will not only harm your body but also have a great impact on your studies. It is actually not difficult to prevent nasal polyps, so I hope everyone can take preventive measures and effectively reduce the chance of getting the disease.
