What impact does lung capacity have on people?

Everyone must know that there is a test in the physical examination to measure your lung capacity? Knowing this is one thing, but have you paid attention to your lung capacity? Is it within the normal range? If it is abnormal, what is the reason? Presumably few people know this range. Today, the editor will tell you whether your lung capacity is normal, and how to adjust it, so that you can return to normal lung capacity.

Vital capacity refers to the amount of air a person can exhale after taking a deep breath and making the largest exhalation. This represents the maximum functional activity of the lungs at one time. Vital capacity is the maximum ventilation volume in one breath, which in a certain sense reflects the potential capacity of the respiratory function. Generally speaking, the healthier a person is, the greater their lung capacity. In terms of age, middle-aged people have the largest lung capacity, while young and old people have smaller lung capacity. People who exercise a lot also have greater lung capacity. It can be improved through exercise. Long-distance runners and swimmers have greater lung capacity.

Vital capacity index = vital capacity ÷ body surface area

Body area = 0.0061*height (cm) + 0.0128*weight (kg) - 0.1329

Adults in my country: 2310 for males and 1800 for females. Those below this value indicate weak respiratory function.

Use the correct breathing method to increase your lung capacity and breathe deeply. Begin by breathing in slowly through your nostrils, filling the lower part of your lungs with air. During inhalation, the abdomen will slowly bulge as the chest cavity lifts upward and the diaphragm moves downward. Then continue to inhale so that the upper part of the lungs is also filled with air. At this time, the ribs will rise and the chest cavity will expand. This process usually takes 5 seconds. Finally hold your breath for 5 seconds. After a period of practice, you can increase the breath-holding time to 10 seconds or even more. After the lungs have absorbed enough oxygen, they exhale slowly, and the ribs and chest cavity gradually return to their original positions. After pausing for one or two seconds, start again from the beginning and repeat for 10 minutes. After practicing for a long time, it can become a normal breathing method.

Now you know it! The normal range of lung capacity varies for men and women, and also for age. But it doesn’t matter. What’s important is the method to improve lung capacity. Different people can use different methods. Don't be anxious during this process, take it slow, success is accumulated over time, I believe everyone can do it. Lung capacity is directly related to a person's exercise tolerance.
