What are sports injuries and how to treat them?

In daily life, sports abrasions and bleeding may occur due to various reasons. Although our daily sports are recreational in nature and no major traumas like those of professional athletes will occur, sports injuries such as abrasions, sprains, muscle strains, and bruises are still possible. When encountering such a situation, you can first use items around you such as frozen mineral water, popsicles, etc. for simple treatment. However, if your wound is more serious, you need to know some first aid treatment methods.

Abrasions are commonly known as scratches on the skin, and can be caused by various sports. Generally, it is just a superficial abrasion, which is the most common and mildest sports injury.

Generally, mineral water is also easy to buy in sports venues. If an abrasion occurs, just clean the wound with mineral water. If the abrasion is not deep, no further treatment is required. If there is bleeding, rinse the wound with mineral water and then apply a hemostatic patch.

Muscle strain: Apply ice mineral water to the injured area

Insufficient warm-up before exercise, long-term lack of exercise, or excessive exercise can easily lead to muscle strain. Its symptoms are muscle pain and swelling in the injured area, obvious tenderness, and a hard feeling to the touch. The severity of the injury can be inferred based on the degree of pain. The more severe the pain, the more serious the injury.

Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain. If there are no ice cubes or cold towels, use local materials and ask a companion to go to a nearby store to buy a bottle of frozen mineral water (the colder the better) or a popsicle. Press it hard on the painful area for 5-10 minutes, remove it for a moment, and then press it again to prevent the injured person from too much pain. Continue this process for 30 minutes. Doing so can reduce local congestion and edema, and reduce the swelling of the skin the next day.

It is not recommended to use medication immediately in the early stages of muscle strain. After the above ice compress treatment, you can apply the anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug Bisford Gel to the painful area when you return home, or spray Yunnan Baiyao aerosol, etc.

The above are some treatment methods for injuries caused during sports. It is best to wear comfortable sportswear when exercising, and be careful not to wear high-heeled shoes, so as to avoid unnecessary injuries during exercise. If you are really injured, you must deal with it in time. If the wound is large, you must go to the hospital for bandaging in time so that you can recover as soon as possible.
