Causes of thyroid calcification

Causes of thyroid calcification

The thyroid gland is a very important organ in the human body. It is located at the front end of the neck, on both sides of the upper end of the trachea. The thyroid gland can secrete thyroid hormones which have a huge effect on the human body. The iodized salt that people usually eat is also good for the thyroid gland. The cause of thyroid nodules is that some cells and tissues around the thyroid gland have proliferated, and the degree of this proliferation is unbearable for normal tissues, so thyroid nodules are formed. However, there is another problem with the thyroid gland, that is, calcification associated with thyroidectomy. So what is the cause of it?

Calcification of thyroid nodules is also a manifestation of hyperthyroidism. Excessive secretion of thyroid hormones causes the endocrine system to become overly excited, resulting in the formation of calcification shadows. The main symptoms of people suffering from this endocrine disease include: fear of heat, weight loss, excessive appetite, and palpitations. Its pathogens are also diverse.

1. Genetic reasons. This may be caused by the presence of other people with the disease in the family, as some cancers have a genetic tendency. The early stage of thyroid calcification is not very serious, but if it is allowed to develop freely, it is very likely to develop into a malignant tumor. Therefore, if there is such a tendency in the family, you should pay more attention to it.

2Due to contact with radiation sources. Exposure to radiation sources has a high risk of causing cancer. If you are frequently exposed to radiation sources, thyroid cancer is very likely to occur, especially in children, who are more likely to develop thyroid nodules if they are exposed to radiation sources. Therefore, whether adults or teenagers, stay away from radiation sources.

3. Consuming too much iodine. We all know that iodine deficiency can cause goiter. But at the same time, consuming too much iodine can also cause thyroid disease. Excessive consumption of iodine can lead to abnormal secretion of thyroid hormones, excessive excitement, and cause thyroid hyperplasia. Therefore, don't eat too salty food in your daily diet. Therefore, patients with thyroid nodules and calcification should eat a light diet and eat more foods that have a swelling-reducing effect, such as kiwi fruit. Avoid eating irritating foods, and it is best to eat less tea, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and chili peppers.

I believe that after reading the above, friends have a certain understanding of the causes of thyroid calcification. In addition to the light diet mentioned above, you should also eat more foods that can enhance immunity. Because people with thyroid calcification need relatively high calories, so they also need more foods with good nutritional value, so you should pay attention when eating.
