For down jackets which are difficult to clean, we should take relevant protective measures in our daily life. Especially when we are eating and writing, down jackets are more likely to be stained with oil or ink, so you should know how to clean down jackets with oil stains. When a down jacket is stained with oil, we recommend that you use toothpaste or ammonia water to scrub the oily area.

For down jackets that are not too dirty, you can use the detergent at home, drop an appropriate amount of detergent on the oil stains, rub for a while, and then wash with clean water. When clothes are stained with oil, do not rush to rinse them with clean water. First apply detergent to the oily stains on the clothes, let the detergent stay on the clothes for about 20 minutes, then gently rub them with your hands, and finally, rinse with clean water to thoroughly wash off the oil stains.

We should pay attention to the maintenance of down jackets at ordinary times. When not wearing them, we can wrap them with breathable items (such as storage bags), put in a mothball to prevent insects, and then store them in a ventilated and dry wardrobe. Be careful not to put heavy pressure on them. There is a lot of rain in summer and autumn. After the rainy season, it is best to take out your down jackets and dry them in the air to prevent them from getting moldy.

If the down jacket is too dirty, you can only use the whole water washing method. First soak the down jacket in cold water for 20 minutes. Pour about 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent into clean water at a temperature of 20-30℃ and stir well. Then put the down jacket that has been taken out of the clean water and squeezed out of the water into it and soak it for 5-10 minutes. Take the down jacket out of the detergent, lay it flat on a clean surface, and gently scrub it from the inside out with a soft brush dipped in detergent. After brushing clean, rinse the clothes in detergent for a few times, then rinse them twice in warm water at 30℃, and then rinse them three times in clean water to thoroughly remove the residual detergent. Wrap the rinsed down jacket in a dry towel, gently absorb the moisture, and then dry it in the sun or in a ventilated place. After it is completely dry, gently pat the surface of the down jacket with a small stick to restore its original fluffiness and softness.
