What are the hazards of natural gas to the human body?

With the continuous advancement of technology in modern society, we have abandoned traditional coal stoves and started using natural gas. This quick and simple way of gas supply has brought great convenience and benefits to our lives. But some friends are worried about whether the long-term use of natural gas will have adverse effects on our bodies. So what are the hazards of natural gas to the human body? Regarding this question, please learn with me in the next period of time.

1. Natural gas leaks can cause people to die from suffocation. The air that humans rely on for survival contains about 20% oxygen. If your activity space is a closed space with thin oxygen, you will lack oxygen, suffocate, and fall into a coma. People with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases will be in danger of their lives. In a closed space, natural gas leakage will make the oxygen in the air relatively thin, which is naturally harmful. If encountering this situation, first close the main valve, turn off the power supply and fire source, and open the doors and windows to allow air circulation. 2. The main components of natural gas are alkanes (methane, ethane, propane, butane...) and a small amount of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Its combustible components are alkanes, which are colorless and odorless and will not poison people (they just suffocate people). The sulfur dioxide in it has an odor. Usually, if there is very little or no sulfur dioxide in natural gas, a small amount of sulfur dioxide gas is added to it to make it easier for people to detect pipeline leaks by smell. Natural gas is not as toxic as coal gas (carbon monoxide). Natural gas is non-toxic. 3. Another hazard of natural gas is explosion. The air usually contains a few percent of natural gas, which will explode immediately when encountering open flames, endangering the safety of buildings and human lives. Therefore, if you find a natural gas leak in the room, avoid open flames and cremation.

I believe that with the above learning, our friends will have a more correct understanding of the harm of natural gas to the human body. Of course, what I want to tell you is that natural gas contains carbon monoxide, so we must ensure air circulation when using it. Especially when we go to sleep at night, we must remember not to close the doors and windows tightly. Once there is a natural gas leak, we will be poisoned.
