Routine check-up is a very common type of check-up. In fact, we usually undergo such a check-up when we go to the hospital for a physical check-up. Often, healthy people may not be diagnosed with any diseases during a physical check-up, so the blood routine test report is not taken seriously. People just take a quick look at it and throw it aside. Routine blood tests are of great reference value. For example, they can be used to check for anemia or certain heart and lung diseases. Here are some issues that you should pay attention to when doing a routine blood test. Clean the area where blood will be collected, which is usually the earlobe, middle finger or ring finger tip, and wait until the area is dry before collecting blood. On cold days, you can rub the area to warm it up before drawing blood. You should fast before a routine blood test, but fasting is not as simple as skipping breakfast. You should avoid eating greasy food the night before the examination, and you should fast after 8 o'clock. If you still have a midnight snack at 12 o'clock, you will not be able to ensure that you are on an empty stomach when your blood is drawn. On the morning of the physical examination, no beverages, including juice and milk, are allowed except boiled water. If you want to get better test results, it is best to eat a basically vegetarian diet starting three days before the test. On the day of the physical examination, it is best to wear clothes with loose sleeves so that you can roll up your sleeves when drawing blood from a vein. Your clothes should be clean to prevent pinhole infection. After blood collection, you should straighten your forearm and use your other hand to press the hemostatic cotton ball tightly for at least 5 minutes. Do not bend your elbow to stop the bleeding, and do not twist the cotton ball to avoid subcutaneous bruising. If there is bruising around the stye, you can apply hot compress after 24 hours. To avoid infection, do not let the needle hole get wet for 24 hours. A routine blood test is of great value and is inexpensive. This test mainly checks red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin and platelets. A routine blood test can be used to diagnose whether a patient has pneumonia or sepsis, meningitis or leukemia, coagulation disorders, or bacterial infections. |
