Is drinking red wine before bed like chronic suicide?

There are many types of wine, among which red wine is a common one. Red wine is quite popular and many people like to drink red wine. However, it is worth noting that not all times are suitable for drinking red wine. In fact, drinking red wine before going to bed is like chronic suicide. Let’s take a look at the introduction below.

Drinking red wine before bed can easily lead to alcoholic liver disease

Drinking red wine before going to bed is actually not advisable. Many people think that a glass of red wine before going to bed can help sleep, but they don’t know that this will give alcoholic liver disease an opportunity to take advantage. Red wine can increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, stabilize vascular endothelial cells, control platelet aggregation, and reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases. Studies show that the most suitable alcohol intake is 20 to 40 grams per day for men and 10 to 20 grams per day for women. Other studies have shown that women who consume more than 20 grams of alcohol per day for a long time have a significantly increased risk of developing alcoholic hepatitis.

What is alcoholic liver disease

To put it simply, alcoholic fatty liver is a liver disease caused by long-term and heavy drinking. If men drink more than 40 grams of alcohol a day and women drink about 20 grams (80 grams of 50-proof liquor is equivalent to 40 grams of alcohol, and beer cannot exceed one bottle a day), generally for more than 5 years, they are likely to develop alcoholic fatty liver. This is mainly because alcohol is metabolized in the liver, and its metabolite acetaldehyde has direct toxic side effects on the liver. It is precisely because of the damage caused by alcohol that the liver's metabolism and utilization of substances such as fat are impaired and cannot be transported out of the liver, which causes fat to accumulate in the liver. Generally speaking, if the fat content in the liver (mainly triglycerides) exceeds 10%-15% of the wet weight of the liver (the fat content in the liver of a normal person is only 3%-5% of the wet weight of the liver), the liver will malfunction.

In fact, many people know that drinking is harmful to the body. Excessive drinking will not only make people lose their rationality, but in serious cases it can also lead to death. Don't think that it is appropriate to drink any kind of wine at any time. This is not the case. Drinking red wine before going to bed can lead to cardiovascular disease, which is like chronic suicide, and is very detrimental to your health.
