How to wash mildew spots on clothes

How to wash mildew spots on clothes

If it rains for several consecutive days, the air will become very humid. Clothes that are not completely dried will easily grow mold spots, especially light-colored clothes, which are more prone to mold spots and look very ugly. If it is clothes that you have just worn, you will feel even more distressed. It is a pity to throw them away, but you can't wash them clean. So how do you deal with mold spots on clothes? It’s actually very simple. If there are mold spots on cotton clothes, you can use mung bean sprouts to scrub them, and woolen coats can be exposed to the sun and then brushed off with a brush. Different methods are required for clothes made of different materials. Let me introduce them to you in detail below.

Alcohol cleaning method.

Mildew stains on clothing can be first exposed to sunlight, then cleaned with a brush and finally washed off with alcohol; (Note: Colored clothing fades easily when exposed to the sun. Air out colored clothing to dry and lightly brush the spots with a brush.) For areas where mildew stains are still stubborn, apply some 5% alcohol solution, or scrub repeatedly with hot soapy water several times, and then just rub and wash as usual, the mildew stains can be completely removed.

White vinegar and milk method.

Add two spoons of white vinegar and half a bag of milk to the clean water in the washing basin, soak the moldy clothes in the water for 1 hour, and finally wash them with clean water and hang them in the sun.

The growth of mold spots on clothes is not only due to weather, but also related to our improper storage methods of clothes. If clothes are not completely dry, they will easily grow mold in humid air. Clothes that are stored for a long time should also be taken out and exposed to the sun frequently to remove the musty smell. The dried clothes can be placed in a vacuum bag and sealed for storage so that they will not be affected by the weather.
