What are the precautions after freezing common warts

It is not uncommon to use cryotherapy to treat common warts, and the technology of cryotherapy is relatively mature. The virus that causes common warts is highly infectious, so some things need to be paid attention to after cryotherapy, such as personal hygiene.

Freezing Notes:

1. Freezing may cause blisters or blood blisters. When the blisters exceed the original base of the wart and feel tight, you can use a syringe to drain the liquid or puncture it to squeeze out the liquid in the blister, and then apply some Bactroban, erythromycin or chloramphenicol eye ointment to reduce inflammation.

2. After freezing, under normal circumstances, it is recommended not to soak the frozen area in water for the first three days. It can be exposed to water appropriately. In case the blisters (blood) are broken, do not contact with water. You can apply anti-inflammatory ointment externally to prevent infection.

3. The next cryotherapy should be done after the scabs fall off naturally. The interval for hands and dorsum of feet is generally about 3 weeks, and the interval for soles of feet is generally about 4 weeks. After the scab falls off, the base becomes smooth and flat, which means it is cured. Warts on the back of the hands and feet can usually be cured with 1-2 liquid nitrogen cryotherapy sessions, while warts on the palms and soles may require 2-4 or even more liquid nitrogen cryotherapy sessions to be cured.
