What is the method for removing gallstones?

Cholecystectomy is indeed a commonly used surgical method for treating gallbladder, but whether surgical treatment should be adopted should also be decided based on the patient's condition to avoid and reduce possible sequelae after surgery.

1First of all, the gallbladder is an important digestive organ in the human body and cannot be removed at will. The traditional treatment for gallstones or gallbladder polyps is mostly cholecystectomy, but it should be noted that cholecystectomy is not only traumatic, harmful, and slow to recover, but also has many complications.

2 The short-term complications of cholecystectomy mainly include bile duct damage leading to obstructive jaundice, diarrhea, reflux gastritis, and esophagitis; the long-term complications mainly include common bile duct stones, intrahepatic bile duct stones, Oddi sphincter dysfunction, colon cancer, etc.

3 Most patients begin to experience Oddi sphincter dysfunction 2-4 years after cholecystectomy, and the condition gradually worsens, or recurs, with paroxysmal exacerbations, manifested as abdominal distension and pain, accompanied by varying degrees of radiating pain in the back, acid reflux, heartburn, which worsens after eating and can cause nighttime awakening due to pain for a long time. A very important feature is that no abnormalities were found in hepatobiliary and pancreatic CT, color ultrasound, MRI and various tests. So when there are more treatment options, try not to choose cholecystectomy.

After cholecystectomy, you should pay attention to the following: Diet is the key. Try to eat a light diet and avoid spicy, irritating, raw, cold, or greasy food. Take part in physical exercise and light physical labor appropriately. Avoid sitting or lying for a long time and too little activity to facilitate the recovery of body functions.
