Can a bad stomach cause chest tightness? What are the symptoms?

There are many reasons for chest tightness. It may be caused by the heavy load on the lungs after strenuous exercise, or it may be caused by some physical illness. A bad stomach may also cause chest tightness, for example, gastritis can cause chest tightness.

The symptoms of gastritis are usually nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, etc. If the gastritis is caused by irregular diet, there may be symptoms of chest tightness.

The clinical manifestations of different gastritis may vary. Common clinical manifestations are:

1. Upper abdominal pain Most gastritis patients have upper abdominal pain. Most upper abdominal pain is irregular and has nothing to do with diet. The pain is generally diffuse upper abdominal burning pain, dull pain, bloating, etc.

2. Abdominal distension Some patients will feel abdominal distension. It is often caused by food retention in the stomach, delayed emptying, and indigestion.

3. Belching There is belching. It indicates that the gas in the stomach increases and is discharged through the esophagus, temporarily relieving the upper abdominal fullness.

4. Recurrent bleeding Bleeding is an acute inflammatory change of the gastric mucosa that occurs on the basis of gastritis.

5. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, constipation or diarrhea, etc.

6. Physical examination may show upper abdominal tenderness, and a few patients may have weight loss and anemia.

Quit smoking and drinking, avoid using drugs that damage the gastric mucosa such as aspirin, indomethacin, erythromycin, etc., eat regularly, avoid overheated, salty and spicy foods, and actively treat chronic oral, nasal and pharyngeal infections. Commonly used drugs for protecting gastric mucosa include colloidal bismuth subcitrate (CBS), sucralfate, mezilin-S, aluminum hydroxide gel, and gastric mucosa. Drugs that adjust gastrointestinal motility function and treat upper abdominal distension include domperidone. For those who suffer from hiccups, bloating or reflux, gastrokinetic drugs can be used.
