What is pulmonary ascites

What is pulmonary ascites

The lungs are one of the most important organs in the human body. However, if you live in a dusty environment for a long time, it will cause a lot of damage to the lungs. Pulmonary ascites is one of the diseases. Pulmonary ascites will not be transmitted to other people, but for the patient himself, it will cause kidney failure and heart disease. Because there is too much water in the lungs, it will cause a lot of trouble in breathing, so you must go to the hospital and take timely treatment.

Ascites is caused by hypoproteinemia or obstructed venous return and is common in cirrhosis, heart failure, nephrotic syndrome and renal failure. Of course, it may also be seen in tumor diseases.

Under normal circumstances, there is a small amount of fluid in the chest cavity. When something happens that affects the pleura, the fluid in the chest cavity can increase, which is called pulmonary ascites. There are many causes, which can be summarized into two categories: one is caused by inflammatory lesions, or effusion caused by non-infectious inflammation; the second is tumor-related, which can be a systemic disease or a lesion in a certain organ.

Ascites The excess free fluid accumulated in the abdominal cavity is called "ascites", also known as "drops" or "bloating". Ascites may be part of generalized edema. Under normal circumstances, there may be a small amount of fluid in the abdominal cavity, but generally not more than 200 ml. If the free fluid in the abdominal cavity exceeds 1500 ml, mobile dullness may appear (the examination method is: the patient first lies on his back on the bed, bends his legs, and the examiner taps on the abdomen. When a heavy "dong dong" sound is heard, it indicates that there is substantial substance in the body. Afterwards, the examiner keeps his hand where the dullness appears, and asks the patient to change his position and lie on his side. When the examiner taps the original position again, he will find that the heavy sound has become heavier or disappeared).

If abdominal distension is found, it should be distinguished from obesity, giant ovarian cysts, full bladder, giant hydronephrosis, pregnancy, gastrointestinal flatulence, etc. The difference between ascites and obesity: When a person is obese, other parts of the body may become plump and fat, the fat layer of the abdominal wall may thicken, the abdomen may become spherical and swollen, without a frog belly (that is, when lying on your back, the ascites flows to the sides of the abdomen, and the central abdomen has no feeling of fullness, and is shaped like a frog belly), the navel may be sunken, and there may be no mobile dullness. The difference between ascites and giant ovarian cyst: In the case of giant ovarian cyst, the abdomen is obviously bulging, which is very similar to ascites, but the disease history is long, the onset is slow, and there are no obvious systemic symptoms. When lying flat, the abdomen bulges forward more obviously than on both sides, the umbilicus moves upward, the maximum abdominal circumference is below the level of the umbilicus, and the appearance is mostly asymmetrical. The umbilicus moves upward, the maximum abdominal circumference is below the level of the umbilicus, and the appearance is mostly asymmetrical. The distance from the umbilicus to the peak of the iliac bones on both sides is not equal. When percussed, the two flanks often have a tympanic sound.
