What are the more obvious symptoms of uterine cancer

Uterine cancer is a type of cancer with a high incidence rate in our lives. The treatment of uterine cancer is actually relatively mature, so patients should not be too nervous or worried. For cancer, it is necessary to detect it early so that the treatment will be more effective.

1. Abnormal heavy bleeding during menstruation

Uterine cancer can usually cause abnormal heavy menstrual bleeding, but many other conditions can also cause this symptom, including fibroids and polyps. Sometimes it is caused by (endometrial) hyperplasia, or it can be its precursor lesions. Women can also occasionally have excessive menstrual flow when they are in good health. When wearing an intrauterine ring (IUD), excessive menstrual flow often occurs. For this symptom, you should pay attention to the following points: How much has the menstrual flow increased compared to the past? Will the next menstruation return to normal or will it still increase abnormally? If it has increased a lot and the next menstruation is still like this, then you should go to the hospital for a check-up.

2. Intermenstrual bleeding

Surveys show that abnormal bleeding is one of the earliest noticeable signs, seen in 90% of women with uterine cancer, but this does not mean that 90% of women with intermenstrual bleeding have uterine cancer. There are many reasons for this, for example breakthrough bleeding during ovulation is quite common (normal). This requires further investigation, especially in women over 35 years old.

3. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbar region

Uterine cancer may cause precursor symptoms of lower back and lumbosacral pain. Although other factors such as obesity can cause lumbosacral pain, these symptoms have various treatable causes. Regardless of whether the symptoms appear suddenly or have lasted for a day or two, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis.

4. Postmenopausal bleeding

Once a woman reaches menopause, abnormal bleeding is easy to detect and should be reported to the doctor immediately. However, during the perimenopause period, abnormal bleeding is more difficult to identify, because menopause is a gradual process. If you have such bleeding once and it seems to have no characteristics at all (such as irregular bleeding, more frequent cycles or longer duration than before or sudden bleeding between menstrual periods), then you should be alert, it may be uterine cancer, and you should go to the hospital for examination. Watery, bloody or smelly discharge; if this happens, you should go to the hospital for examination, because it is definitely caused by a disease and requires treatment.
