Burns are very common in our daily lives. Burns must be treated promptly and scientifically, and relevant care must be provided. Otherwise, it is easy to cause complications. Burn sepsis is a serious complication of burns. Comprehensive measures must be taken to prevent it.

1. How to prevent and treat burn sepsis

The researchers believe that comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent and treat sepsis, focusing on treating the disease (burns) rather than the symptom (sepsis). When treating severe burns, the causes of severe sepsis and MODS must be eliminated or weakened. To this end, they proposed three goals of anti-shock treatment: timely, rapid and adequate fluid resuscitation to ensure oxygen supply to extensive tissues; rapidly restore intestinal blood supply to protect the intestinal mucosal barrier and prevent endotoxins in the intestinal cavity from entering the blood; and prevent and treat oxygen free radical damage. For patients who have developed sepsis and its complications, we focus on comprehensive treatment with wound treatment as the core. For patients with sepsis and hypernatremia, we use hemodialysis therapy without heparin using the hemodialysis membrane developed by ourselves.

2. Symptoms and Signs

1. Mental excitement, polyphagia, delirium, even illusions, hallucinations, disorientation, and depression.

2. The tongue turns from red to crimson, becomes dry and less moist, and becomes prickly, and the tongue coating turns from white and greasy to yellow or burnt yellow.

3. The body temperature suddenly rises to above 39.5℃ or drops sharply to below normal.

4. Rapid breathing, >35/min.

5. Heart rate becomes faster, >140/min.

6. Abdominal distension and weakened or disappeared bowel sounds.

7. The wound surface deteriorates rapidly, manifested by moisture, corruption, necrotic spots, dark color, sunken wound edges, growth stagnation, and deepening of the wound surface.

8. Most patients suffer from polyuria. Oliguria occurs when septic shock occurs.
