What are the symptoms of recurrence of perianal abscess

What are the symptoms of recurrence of perianal abscess

Perianal abscess may recur, and the treatment of perianal abscess is relatively troublesome, which has an impact on both the body and mind. For example, after the ulcerated area heals, if pus continues to accumulate, causing the infection to spread and form a new abscess, it is a symptom of recurrence.

1. Improper treatment or incomplete treatment. In the treatment of perianal abscess, many patients often choose drug treatment, but it always comes back after recovery. Not only do they take a lot of medicine and spend a lot of money, but the condition only gets worse.

2. It is caused by acute suppurative infection in the soft tissue or surrounding space around the anal canal and rectum. The perianal abscess can rupture on its own and form a granulomatous duct connected to the skin of the perineum, namely anal fistula. If perianal abscess surgery is not thorough, it will often recur and take a long time to heal.

3. Many doctors use traditional treatments to treat perianal abscesses, which are very painful, slow to recover, and expensive. Most importantly, the treatment is incomplete and prone to recurrence. This is because this method does not find all the internal openings.

4. Perianal abscess generally cannot heal on its own. If allowed to develop, the abscess will eventually rupture into the perianal skin or the anorectal cavity to form anal fistula. If the pus is drained, the symptoms can be temporarily relieved, and then the ulcer can heal. The pus will continue to accumulate, and the infection will continue to spread to the surrounding area. Symptoms will reappear, and new abscesses may appear and form multiple ulcers. The disease will recur repeatedly and will not heal for a long time.

Expert Tip: To cure perianal abscess accompanied by anal fistula, the anal fistula must be treated first to keep the perineum clean. At the same time, antibiotics are used to control infection. About 3 months after the abscess ruptures or the incision and drainage, the inflammation around the anal fistula will subside and a fiber duct will be formed. Then surgery can be performed to treat the anal fistula.
