After the beginning of autumn, the summer heat gradually subsides, and it is a transitional period from hot to cold. In early autumn, you should pay attention to the "three preventions" of health care - preventing heatstroke, preventing diarrhea, and preventing premature tonic. The principle of diet in early autumn should be light, less spicy and more acidic: eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and high-quality proteins such as fish, chicken, and goose meat to improve the body's immunity. Eat less fried or deep-fried foods, especially avoid tonic foods such as mutton and dog meat; for those with weak spleen and stomach, mild tonic ingredients such as black chicken and squab, paired with medicinal materials such as wild yam, longan, yam, and water chestnut, are ideal tonic foods.

1. Prevent heatstroke.

The beginning of autumn has passed, but the high temperature and heat brought by the "autumn tiger" will continue for more than a month. In addition, the sky is high and the clouds are light in autumn, and the ultraviolet radiation intensity is strong, so the residual power of "heatstroke" still threatens people's health. Take sun protection measures when engaging in outdoor activities; drink water in time, don't wait until you feel dry mouth to drink water, drink some light salt water after exercise to replenish the salt lost during exercise; do not exercise on an empty stomach, because it is easy to get heatstroke on an empty stomach; if you feel uncomfortable during outdoor activities, stop immediately and rest in a cool place.

2. Prevent diarrhea.

In the hot summer, people have poor appetite and their spleen and stomach functions are weakened. After entering early autumn, if you are not careful about your diet, it is easy to cause diarrhea, especially for the elderly and children. Pay attention to hygiene in your daily diet and avoid eating large amounts of nutritious or difficult-to-digest foods, which will increase the burden on your stomach and intestines. Eat less raw, cold, spicy, greasy and other irritating foods; freshwater fish and sashimi contain more parasites and are not recommended. You can eat some deep-sea fish. Children have weaker constitutions and are easily infected by rotavirus. If they show symptoms such as high fever, diarrhea, and obvious dehydration, they should be sought medical attention immediately.

3. Avoid taking supplements too early.

According to folk customs, people should eat tonic food in autumn to gain weight, but it is too early to do so in early autumn. Because early autumn is still in the hottest days of summer, taking tonic food too early can easily cause symptoms such as getting angry and diarrhea. It is better to take tonic food after the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Zhu Chengquan suggested that the diet in early autumn should be light, less spicy and more acidic: eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and high-quality proteins such as fish, chicken, and goose meat to improve the body's immunity. You can eat more foods that soothe the stomach and strengthen the spleen, such as lotus seeds, coix seeds, winter melon, lotus roots, etc.; autumn dryness hurts the lungs, and Chinese medicine believes that "acid enters the liver to nourish the liver", so you should eat more acidic foods such as sour plums, preserved plums, hawthorns, tangerines, oranges, etc., but "spicy foods hurt the lung yin", so you should eat less spicy foods such as onions, ginger, garlic, and peppers; in addition, you can eat more lilies, adenophora, dendrobium, white fungus, snow pears, as well as kelp and pork ribs soup, mung bean and winter melon soup, etc., which can produce body fluids.
